Something of a traditionalist so preferably anything before Cata opened up classes a bit. Still if a good argument can be made I’ll consider it. Can I get some inspiration? Also should Allied races be included in the… checks notes 11 available classes or should I relegate them to additional slots?

So are you looking for the iconic combos (Human Paladin/Night Elf Druid)? Are you looking for classes that synergize really well with a specific race’s racials (Dwarves able to purge blood debuffs being great for tanks)? Do you have a playstyle you really like, any favorite classes, etc?

Mainly aesthetics, Lore friendly. makes sense and looks good doing it. Partial to tanking/dps but I’m willing to try any role and playstyle. If I had to pick a favorite class… Ah crap… Warrior, Warlock, Shaman? Even though I’m garbage at all of them. I’m actively trying to ignore racials as that adds another layer of complexity. Like what synergizes well and what sounds good for the class (Example, Mag’har racials sound good for Shaman, Ancestral Call etc but like Orcs they typically benefit more from Hunters)

Going with Warrior, Shaman, and Warlock, I’d suggest…
Dwarf Warrior (Dark Iron or Regular)
Dwarf Shaman (Wildhammers just feel like the lore friendliest shaman Alliance side)
Void Elf Warlock (Preternatural Calm is one hell of a drug)
On Warlocks, I think a strong case can be argued for Draenei Warlock using the Eredar skin, because really, that’s peak Warlock right there. You could even farm up the Archimonde transmog.

Human paladin or warrior is pretty iconic. Like Uther and Anduin Lothar. Or human mage, like Khadgar, Jaina, or evenAntonidas (man i wish we had super long beards).

Won’t lie, the viney beard is a strong argument for Male Night Elf Druid over Female. despite my love of the original cinematic.

You can’t go wrong with a Night Elf Druid. Iconic, and highly versatile. Excellent racial. As has already been stated, beards with vines/leaves are awesome if you go for male.
Human Paladin is another iconic one, and humans do alright in the transmog department.
Death Knight? You can’t really go wrong with a Death Knight as any race I suppose. Human might be a bit more iconic if you’re going the Arthas route.
Already discussed Warriors and Shamans.
For hunters, you’re probably looking at Night Elves. Possibly Void Elves if you go with the High Elf aesthetic options. There’s some good High Elf stuff out there.
Rogue has got to be Worgen. You get the full Worgen experience and story (Tess is in their class hall, for example), and it’s just iconic to them.
The iconic Monk is a Pandaren, but just about anything works here.
You’ll be a Night Elf Demon Hunter, and you’ll like it.
Already discussed Warlock, but I’ll swing for Void Elf Mage/Priest as well. Again, preternatural calm is one hell of a drug. Honorable mention to Mechagnomes though. Excellent racials, impossible to transmog, but I think their casting animations are in the top three.
Oh, and Dracthyr Evoker.

Yea… Just, kind of despise their attack animations. I don’t know, I kind of think Night elf because as Cordana loves to remind me “All Night elf children learn to love the dark” and the hit and run tactics rogues employ seem perfect for Night Elf tactics. As for Shaman, an argument can be made for Dark Iron as well. See plenty of them in BfA, after the whole Ragnaros thing I imagine many would prefer to learn how to not be under an elemental’s thrall again.
I’m also a bit interested in Draenei because they were what originally got Alliance Shamans in the first place even though Blizzard does nothing with that route beyond the occasional Broken showing up.
Hunters I’m often debating between dwarf, Night elf or Worgen (While I’m not a fan of their gun firing animation at least from Male I cannot deny the idea of a Worgen with his pack of wolves out hunting just scratches a particular itch.)
Lastly Talrunas is mine and I don’t even know if I’ll keep him and go with a female Druid, might use the name for a Demon Hunter…

Mechagnome. You don’t need a campfire, forge, anvil and can open chests / doors. Such convenience to craft / smelt anywhere. As for class? IDK but a Rogue would be a waste with the lockpicking.

I mean you got Draenei with Red skin, Void Elf, Dark Iron, Gnome… And human.
Red skin Draenei and Dark Iron work, I don’t like the rest
I would eliminate Gnomes from the game if I could
