Nah, there are just different expectations in the culture. The first rule of tanking is “don’t be new on other players’ time,” and that’s not a “best” condition at all. It’s why I only tank for friends. It’s also why I have a whole sect of glass cannon DPS alts that I only level in solo LFD queue, because they are less solo friendly, and I want to just turn my brain off and pewpew.

Umm, I just ask the guests the clues and find the person…it’s not hard. Or have a paladin use truth guard mog and it will shine next to the party goer. Ooooor you can spectral sight it as well.
Can always just make the tank do everything too because no one else is capable of it…at least thats what i got from.this thread. Cant do party mini game unless you’re the tank

I really enjoyed this post, and you’re right, I am somewhat jaded.
This whole thread just stemmed from that fact that my friends, who rarely have more than 3 of us online at once and who loved legion (but did almost no level cap dungeoning in legion) are all relatively less acquainted with the court of stars. Like over the course of this thread I, the usual tank among our friends, went to run the place on my 80 main to test the addons I’d installed to streamline the cocktail party, and even I got frustrated with the place doing that.
All of this is to say, we’ll need 3 of us so I don’t get kicked when we go to run timewalking this coming week, until I’m comfortable, because I fully expect to get turned around and then for there to be little cooperation outside my friends and I in discord when it comes to the cocktail party.
We’ll be fine, but as the tank I do feel extra pressure to “not be new,” thus this thread.
I don’t use addons, I also avoid that dungeon as its freaking horrible, but when forced to do it i just guess.
