Black people in fantasies triggers people. Black Panther was proof of that.11/11/2018 09:11 AMPosted by Sked11/11/2018 09:02 AMPosted by Shadøw...Shouldn't come as a surprise.
People are asking for darker skin options in WoW when you HAD the option before the model update.
Folks are giving dumbass responses ranging from this isn't Africa or blacks don't exist in WoW.
Shocking

I find it Crazy so many people are defending black people not being in wow. Like do you dislike black people that much you cant even have them in your fantasy world?
So you are fine with wolves, elves, trolls, goblins, and even orcs but Black people is where you draw the line?
100% chance that some of the folks in this thread would be insanely furious if instead of removing the black skin options back in WoD, they removed the white ones. But because it's the other way around they try to find excuses.
11/11/2018 08:22 AMPosted by Skedsouth park episode of wow and Tolkiens character was also black.
His name is actually Token. Token Black, if you want the full name.
Also, I think the darker skin tones should be available and I hope they will be (as some are saying on this thread). After all, I get to be a big cow, which is what I am in real life, so, yeah.

The darkest skin tone you can be as a human at the moment. I don't know about you, but that's pretty close to a standard North African complexion, or at least Ethiopian/Somalian.
My hispanic partner held his hand up to the screen, his hand is darker than that. So no.

Ya its comical how many people are defending this and giving me "close enough" alternatives
Maybe I am missing something here but...
This was the darkest skin you could have as a human in vanilla WoW:

This the darkest skin you can have as a human in modern WoW:

Both screenshots are using identical customization settings so unless my old vanilla client is somehow missing an even darker skin option, they don't seem that different to me.

Why can't I be purple, but Tyrande can? FIX IT.
Try turning down the screen brightness.11/11/2018 07:30 AMPosted by SkedI am a black male and I used to have black characters and now you cant make black characters at all? is there like a missing achievement or we going to blame this on rendering?
11/11/2018 08:03 AMPosted by Pepetuxwhy u trying to bring race and social problem into a game where both of these literaly dont exist ??
what? race doesn't exist in this game? there are many stories of one race wanting to wipe out another. it totally exists in this game.
whocares.....
What's the problem with adding more customization? Though a deeper social issue is (and should be driving this imo), why are so many people so opposed to adding dark skin tones? Does it take away from your enjoyment of the game to have additional customization options for humans? Will it break your immersion to see a dark skinned human or human with Asian facial features? If it does, then you my friend are a racist. Welcome to 2018. People are tired of your close-minded BS.
There's nothing wrong with requesting additional character customization options, especially ones that allow people that like their toon to resemble their rl selves. I'm not one of those folks, but why in the hell would I deny that to others?
Hell, go look at all the threads calling for more customization options. WoW is in sad shape in that department compared to many mmorpgs. Now that a thread requesting this involves skin color it's suddenly a problem? Sounds more like racism is the problem when you consider all that. By saying this should not be an option, you're the ones bringing social issues into this thread, not the person that is simply asking for darker skin tones. Are you in all the other threads screaming that you don't want more customization? No? Tf is wrong with people?

If you get a Mag’har to 120 and side with Saurfang in 8.1, you’ll earn the “Emancipated” achievement and get to play with the Alliance.

11/11/2018 09:49 AMPosted by MirkwoodGreetings fellow NPC, #orangemanbad, #resist, #diversity, #allmenarebad, #imwithher, #metoo. Must force social issues where they don't belong.
This isn't a social issue, its a gaming issue, but nice strawmanning.

Just out of curiosity, when did they take out the ability to pick darker skin colors from the game?
Why? Because they can. Because they did. Your feelings and curiosity on the subject mean nothing. You're wasting your time
I think it was during WoD when they updated the human models. Someone could probably give an accurate explanation though.11/11/2018 10:16 AMPosted by Faruq11/11/2018 10:12 AMPosted by Sked...

Gotta unlock kultiran. The darkest skin tone looks like skin tone from south asia. Not the exact hues like many people from africa. The game generally has European and northern russian skin tones for humans primarily for whatever reason. They did said they would add more skin tones in a blizzcon but no news yet for stormwind humans.
