As the title say i fear that us who took our loss and just transferred off or deleted the character we may have the short end of the stick here. Im all for the revival of all of us who died from DDOS going back to March 9th. But it leaves a sour taste knowing that many many of us may be left out when Blizzard has taken action.
Not here to bash i think what theyre doing is great and warranted and i also know theres no way to please everyone
I transferred this mage when I died during the OF DDoS Sunday.
Wasn’t even in combat when the DC started, but somehow my group pulled me in and I didn’t disconnect from the server, but none of my buttons went through. I could still interact with guild chat and watched all the death messages while they had petri’d out.
Thought I wanted to keep playing, so I went ahead with the free transfer… All of my raid lockouts persisted through the transfers, and all of my attunement quest progress wiped, so I haven’t been able to even do anything.
My few hours of interacting with the economy on that server is a drop in the bucket compared to the bots on that server… I just want my HC back.
You’re preemptively creating that taste in your mouth.
Blizzard has said they’re restoring characters as part of the DDOS attacks, we don’t really know how far reaching that will be or how long it will take. Best to just wait for details as they come out rather than making assumptions based on nothing.
Youre probably right, listening to the loads of negative comments about the entire issue is leaving me with a more pessimistic view of the entire ordeal. Thank you for that reality check
that’s rough af bro, def put in a ticket to go back.
You’re likely screwed and will need to start over. You aren’t a streamer, sorry OP
As far as deleted characters, can’t those be restored for a period of time before it is perminent.
A month I believe
I smell a lawsuit.
Are you a big streamer?
If you answered no, time to go cry in a corner.
If you answered yes, get ready for daddy blizzard to save you.
What’s crazy here is that they’ve literally also told the streamers who transferred “no” and yet you still are crying about their streamer benefits for some reason.
They aren’t rezzed yet either.
Blizzard hasn’t stated when they’re doing anything.
No one knows who will or won’t get rezzed in this case.
You LITERALLY just want to cry lol
Blizzard has a lot more tracking and history on what happened to every character than we realize. I am sure that characters transferred or deleted after they died is no harder for them to process once they decide your character qualifies.
They don’t even have to ask you whether you want your character back, they can just restore them all and remove any transfer destination ones, and let you delete or transfer the restored living character if that is what you really want (which of course is doubtful).
I would be shocked if they used deletion or transferring as an excuse that it complicates restoring those particular characters. They don’t want to give any new ammunition to the people crying about how restoration ia a bad idea.
The bigger question is: when will they begin restoring characters, to reduce the chance that someone on a transferred server will now play them and find some epic and scream that THAT got taken away from them when their restoration (and accompanying likely removal of the transferred character as part of the overall undo) goes through.
Every day that goes by is adding to the stress and perceived (real or not) complications from all this mess. My guess would be restorations need to start this week. Of course, the moment anyone’s character is restored they will yell all about it, so we’ll all know when it starts happening.
I wouldnt mind if they took all my gold, all my gear, emptied out my bank and took away 5 levels. I would just like to have my 56 pally back. If i died because i leroy’d into a back of undead in EPL that’d be my fault but having her go out due to a ddos attack is anothers. I moved her to another realm after but have been too depressed to finish the last little grind to 60.
