To be honest, I was never the biggest fan of Garrisons. But problems aside, there’s no doubt that they’re still some very cool locations, and there was a bit of fun to be had collecting some of the followers. And hey, it was a place to collect music, which honestly helped a TON with the overall ambience.
Well, getting a Garrison maxed-out was definitely a bit of work, and not only was it a pain to do for alts way back THEN, but in today’s game, it’s not only irrelevant, but even more unlikely.
Still, like I said, they’re pleasant enough areas, and it would be nice to have some of that added convenience for alts. And honestly, it might ease peoples’ opinions on them slightly.
I mean, if the progress, unlocks, and customizations are all account-wide, it might actually be WORTH IT to players to spend some time unlocking things.
Also? I might also recommend just “simplifying” the Follower system (for both WoD and perhaps even Legion), removing the cap on “active” followers, and just have everyone scale to your level and automatically “gear-up” once you level beyond 50.
My figuring is, there’s really no incentive to interact with those systems anymore, but for players who find themselves a bit bored, Followers are just one more thing to go out and “collect”.
Also, just saying it wouldn’t be TERRIBLE if we got a couple extra “slots” maybe OUTSIDE of the garrison, just to be able to house ALL of the buildings, but if that’s a sizable amount of work, then forget I even mentioned it.
In any case… it’s obviously just an idea. But virtually everyone has a Garrison hearthstone, and issues with garrisons aside, the Level 3’s are honestly kind of cool. Making them account-wide would make it easier to appreciate them, I think.
