I love doing a try hard 28k and my Windwalker buddy is doing 70k overall killing everything before I even get a chance to set up. He gets to do damage on the first global. I got this convoluted busy rotation. DF mage is dog sh*t. Mage dev failed us big time.

my fire mage is insane with all the instants. i LOVE it. forgot how much i love fire mage till i did event. havent played it in forever. not sure what the dps is as numbers have no interest to me. my only disappointment is when the procs run out and i actually have to hard cast a fireball which is rare
edit to add: i find monks weird and clunky to play personally. 1 of my least fav classes

Blizz does need to take another look at the casting classes. Those were created back when the game’s combat was slower and had a different feel. With the combat change and newer classes the game is much faster and classes like Mage, Destro Warlock and Elemental Shaman have a huge disadvantage against hunters and melee classes. Casting time needs to be sped up and allow casting while moving.

3/4 of Aff Locks’ DoTs are instant cast. Too bad the spec itself isn’t that hot rn.

I play destro on my lock so that’s really where my mind was on that.
you forgot we are level 60, not the level 70 tuning its meant for.
loved that one when they say it. What is broke at 60…is broke at 70. unless you, you know, fix something.

Arcane mage feels pretty good, at least it did in prepatch but I don’t main a mage
Is your friend the same level as you are?
Do they have the same ILVL and legendary powers (if those are even active anymore)?
There’s more to the story than just raw DPS and a complaint without telling us more information.

Oh yeah, almost forgot Destro is almost 100% hard cast cause I’m levelling as Aff rn. Demo is 50/50 I think.
Need to give them a break, only a few hundred on the development team and a measly ~billion dollar a year gross from subscriptions alone, it’s hard to fix stuff when you’re busy shoving cash in your pockets hand over fist.

I just crit 130k with my Arcane mage alt (level 67).
Sounds like your character is undergeared
I ran into a monk who hit me for a 160k touch of death. The next fight it was 140k. The last fight, because I gave up and ran away, was for 157k.
People have complained that DH is ‘over tuned’ and Blizzard keeps nerfing them, but I’ve yet to see a DH hit that hard at level 70 in the last 30hrs.
Monks have been better than you for like 3 xpacs now in the aoe department
