What’s your favourite Druid and why?

Night Elf druid…

it all started on warcraft 3 ladder…when you could kill workers with one entangle…

not that i abused that or anything :dracthyr_blob_dance_animated:

I feel like you’re arguing against Druids w a pre scourge invasion scarred land Quel’thalas.

Like post scourge invasion things have since changed, and I see it a rather easy implementation to write that some elves sought out Druidism as a way of healing their beloved kingdom.

Also Farstrider culture is closely tied to nature and I would imagine they would get along fine w practicing Druids, at least more on the same page than the other main factions like magisters / blood knights being shown to have a small rivalry w Farstriders.

Kul Tirans. Their forms are really cool looking, well except for the Boomkin form. They missed the mark with that one. The others though are awesome.

It’s 100% Tauren Druid.

It is the best Druid.

Tauren, because my first wow char in 2005 was a tauren druid

Here’s the thing, post-scourge invasion blood elf culture wasn’t about an acceptance and using other ideals, it was about bringing up the aspects in their culture to near critical levels based on survival. “Blood of the Highborne” was based on a jingoistic ideal of their culture that had basically been in hibernation. It was basically about fanatically sticking to their cultural mindsets and using what tools they had to reinforce what they saw as their birthright, no matter the sacrifice and cost.

Farstrider culture has always been about dominating the wilds, rather than communion with it. It was based around using the environment to keep an eye on their enemies (the Amani) as well as ensure nothing disturbs their little corner of heaven.

They never communicated with the spirits or melded with the heart of the wild.

Again not saying a story can’t be made maybe, but based on what it currently is? Incredibly unlikely.

Worgen druid.

/entangling roots… slow rp walk over, bite foe in half
:wolf:

They’ve already said they’re moving to all classes on all races so not really incredibly unlikely more of a when it’s Druids turn to be implemented sort of thing.

I also think your take on Blood Elf / High Elf lore when it comes to their current mindset + connection w Quel’thalas is very “well they used to hate night elves once upon a time so they can never be Druids” it’s kinda dated and narrow.

Diablo 2/4 Druids honestly. Much closer to the celtic myths they’re inspired from than the cartoony ones from WoW.

That was the original point made though. I specifically said it will be interesting to see how they will implement that idea into Blood elf culture (or even just plop it in without a story) because Druidism and Nature was never seen as an admired facet for them. The Talanji idea was kind of cool.

It was much more than that. The hatred with Night Elves and Druidism is one of the origin stories of resentment, which we saw brought up again when Night Elves started accepting Mage, but it later became an idea of seeing a reliance on Nature as an almost weakness. The high Elven/blood Elven society saw themselves above nature and for it to be manipulated to fit their whims: See Permanent spring forest and magically dominating all the creatures.

You keep saying it’ll be interesting to see how they do it, and then go on about outdated takes that would apply pre scourge invasion as your arguments for why it wouldn’t make sense.

Okay let me try and reword it then:

If Druid was just plopped on BE with no info or reason: Wouldn’t make any sense with their culture, history and society (which we all know they won’t just drop the class in with no reason).

If they put the class in with some story or reasoning, then yea it would be interesting to see just what they can come up with to introduce Druid to BE society.

P.S: Don’t forget one of the reasons Druid wasn’t for every race was because it required a connection to the Emerald Dream/Nature. Whether Cenarius, Ysera, Loa, etc. Will they keep that requirement? Who knows. I hope they do…will make for more interesting developments.

Look no further.

Counting down the days, can’t wait to werebear druid all day.
