My personal choice for leveling Alliance is :
Starting zone → Elwin Forest → Redridge Mountains → Legion → Pandaria → then finish up in BfA or Dragon Isles

Depends on the mats I need for crafting old transmog.
MoP. The quests are fun, the zones are beautiful, and the music is some of the best scores in the game. Plus there’s a bunch of hidden goodies to find all over the continent.
Alliance - BFA
Horde - WoD or Legion
After their first character (which probably still has to be Dragonflight), I’d say WoD.
WoD had its problems, but leveling was NOT one of them. It’s a bit campy with the Warlord intros but it was a fun leveling experience, and it has some of the more interesting dungeons in the game too. Not all of them, for sure, but a couple, and most of the rest range from decent enough to “pretty good”.
Khadgar was also a fun character back then. It gets old. Hate the guy these days. But if it’s one’s first time dealing with (modern) him, it’s fun.
Obviously this is a personal opinion so me saying isn’t saying you’re wrong, but…
Holy crap I hated BfA as an Alliance player. It felt like 2 of the 3 zones ended about 30% of the way through, with the entire rest of the zone being filler sidequest stuff.
Drustvar is the only zone that actually had a cohesive plot through the whole thing and had it’s climax at the end instead of partway through. And, I mean, Drustvar is fantastic. But doesn’t save the other 2 zones being total garbage (to me).
I usually level either in Legion or Shadowlands.
Kind of hard to say. I really enjoy Redridge and Duskwood, but Cataclysm varies pretty wildly in terms of quality.
I enjoyed Legion and MOP a lot for the stories and settings. They’re fun to play through, but I can’t say I revisit them often.
BFA Alliance side is by far my favorite set of zones, and I really enjoy a lot of the campaign and story quests.
Since I enjoy speed leveling alts in my spare time, I find WOD to have a really appealing quest density and a super efficient campaign, but I wouldn’t necessarily recommend that to a new player.
Ultimately they’ll be led to Dragonflight, which is a better first-time experience than Shadowlands but admittedly low on my list of overall faves.
warlords. Only because of the keg powder quest close to the beginning in Tanaan Jungle. I like to draw things that would get me ban if I said here.
Pretend its Classic and just do the oldschool routes.
If you’re Alliance do Elwyn, Westfall, Duskwood, STV.
If you’re Horde do Barrens, Ashenvale, Hillsbrad, Desolace lol.
I doubt that actually even works anymore. You’d end up over leveled.
If you use Chromie Time you can level up to 70 in the old zones at least, otherwise some will cap at 35. For some reason Elwynn and all the surrounding areas remain some of my favorite questing experiences. Darkshore and Ashenvale for the faction conflict, too.
Kul’tiras is my favorite leveling experience. Beautiful continent.
WoD and Legion are probably the best ones.
WoD in general is just fun and the zones are great, the Garrison is pretty much a useless husk outside of rewards though, but gives you something to do besides just questing.
Legion has the Class Hall campaigns and its easy to get into.
In order of my favorite
Legion - Easy, class halls. Really cool feature
WoD - Very fun to level in, before TWW/DF was the fastest to level through due to all the bonus exp but dunno if its true anymore…garrison is a ton of fun though even if not relevant anymore
DF - Newest leveling area, the one I take almost all of my characters through. No other reason than its the most recent leveling area before TWW…and kinda flows into TWW really well. If TWW becomes a leveling area, that take DF’s spot in my favorites, and it probably will be one day. With that said, its my third favorite (and TWW probably be my 3rd favorite too when it becomes a leveling area). Hard to beat legion/WOD.
Shadowlands - I know terrible expansion for most lol, but I like the vampire zone and the nature zone is awesome too
MoP - Probably tied with shadowlands, super fun to level in imo and I like the old conflict with horde/alliance in the intro
WOTLK - Nostalgia, but was a nice expansion
The BFA area - Alliance only, dont like horde side. Its ok, I tend to avoid leveling here though
BC - Sorry, but its kinda too outdated compared to the new stuff, and I only like hellsfire peninsula, I leave to other places as I’m not a fan of the other zones
Cataclysm/revamped zones - Well…havent done that in decades it feels
There is actually nothing stopping you from getting off the bus and just doing the content in release order. Well, other than “efficiency” and the feeling of being annoyed at constantly over leveling zones and having to go to a new continent.
well call me Old Man I mostly stick to cata leveling zone, I mean not as cata it self But
“world zone revamp” I mean I kinda miss when I get level world zone and enjoy leveling Heck I got my earthen to Level up around Doing Old horde stuff try to be stoneatlon quest, then South barrens fight dwarfs, then well sadly I got fonsue and wander a bit before 20th thing happen and “Power level” >n>
