What’s your DF Warlock build?

I’ve seen these threads on the other class forums, so here’s our own.

AFF build pvp. if the jailer talent is good, i’ll move into it. But for now this is my fav one.

really love the changes to warlocks’ talents.
I am concerned with MR, i think this might impact the class negatively again like the beginning of SL.

Soulburn looks cool

I get GSac and Roaring Blaze

Fire and Brimstone with Cataclysm

Can’t wait

Menagerie demo build, no tyrant.

I didn’t like it, practically they don’t listen to us, without metamorphosis until today I give up.

I am of the opinion that I enjoy demo without meta. I enjoy some meta abilities like chaos wave but overall i enjoy the summoner thematic 100x more than self empowerment before even mentioning that looking like scuffed illidan was always dumb imo.

Moves like immo aura are boring, touch of chaos is just a no animation fel flame, old demonbolt from WoD was just chaos bolt repainted, and demonic leap gave an immobile class mobility that it shouldnt of had.

And yes, i’ve played with meta in all iterations of wotlk, cata, mop, and wod. The most fun version which was MoP which wasnt even because of meta exclusively, it was because UVLS trinket causing 100% imp spawn rate on guaranteed crit snap shot doom ticks (which enforced the summoner fantasy btw )

Turning into Illidan as a Warlock just didn’t feel right… It looks cool but that’s it

I seriously was just as disappointed :pensive:, a missed perfect opportunity to create a build more focused on creating a different play style for Demonology where we are the huge focus on the power and damage… they seem to double down on the imp summon focus and Felguard builds… this torment jailer talent seems useless and a pain in Single target…

It’s still early days but here’s hoping they listen.

My main problem is, why not both play styles??. It’s quite clear people loved the Meta (my fav MoP) iteration. It was a perfect opportunity to give those players myself included that play style back also while pleasing those who prefer the current play style… it was literally a win win situation.

But they choose to once again completely ignore it. When DF was truely the best expansion to currently implement it back in. Like the Meta iteration?, Talent into it, like a pet focused iteration?, talent into it. It would give huge freedom of choice back to the player.

Meta gameplay was totally different from what we have today and while they are brining things back, ALL classes are just getting things to build off what shadowlands specs rather than reinventing the wheel, so i understand why they didnt bring back meta.

Here’s my PVP build:

Pretty set on the Warlock side. I think the Affliction side has some wiggle room maybe for Dark Glare.

It’s probably also my raid build too, unless the Jailer thing is OP.

My M+ build is pretty much the stark opposite.

My Aff PvP build, focusing on DoTs and drains in the spec tree, and survivability in the class tree

  • Coil or Howl depending on opponents, Soul Conduit swapped for Banish and Imporved Banish if needed/depending on how strong demons/elementals/undead are.

idk yet but Wilfred’s belongs in the Warlock tree, not where it breaks a direct synergy with itself.

I think this will be pretty fun, but we will see. Either Malefic Wrath shiz or a second button of the extender thing, the Malice one, Idk yet. I don’t the tree bottom sections as much but it’s cool for a first iteration.

Currently thinking something like this for PVE mostly and really hoping that Hand of Guldan will get the Hand of Doom to go with it once Doom is selected cause then alone makes it a worth while talent choice. The main focus on this is just setting up a ludicrous amount of pets to just hammer down on single targets while using some of the other abilities to do passive AOE with a few active.

Affliction pvp. Not sure what to do for the bottom portion.

Affliction PvP, I’m getting trained by double melee rsham build.

trying to create a build that’ll keep the current feel of destro

I don’t see how you can nitpick about spells like Immo Aura and touch of chaos (which was cool) when the new demo’s bread and butter is summoning imps and tiny little demon dogs. The lamest demons imaginable and that’s what 70% of the spec is about.

For me, I prefer ascending into a demon lord and unleashing waves of pure chaos energy into my enemies over being an imp mother
