Wow… your version seems a LOT more “fun”… unreal.
I know- its ridiculous, helping someone kill a mob isn’t helping at all, just makes it take longer. And when I came back to SL at level 57 I could solo 60 elites with an Ilvl of just 111. I had to cast a few heals on myself but still.
It IS handy in some things, like the Arachnoid Harvester so he don’t die too fast so I can one day get a mount I will never use, but for other stuff its like whats the point of getting stronger? You work hard for weeks and months and you earn the right to kill something much easier then before, now we earn nothing.
Just spawn protect them
Yeet scaling from the galaxy
The trick to super high dps in low level is enchants, you can use legion, WoD, BFA enchants that are super powerful.
I was leveling a fury warrior doing 200ish AoE 150ish single dps got enchants and my dps shot up to 1500 AoE 800 single.
It’s called the art of misdirection.
why does it matter so much to you what the arbitrary numbers are that pop up above your target’s head?
I literally don’t even know what numbers they are. All I care about is am i healing my team adequately to keep them alive? Yes? Good, I’ve succeeded at this challenge. Bring on the next one.
Because instead of front-loading classes with mandatory abilities such as INTERRUPTS until later on the leveling process. (Every class should have an interrupts/cc by 10) they decided that the best way a bunch of low levels can overcome ability challenging content by just giving them freakishly huge DPS.
That’s why the 10 is doing hundreds, if not thousands, of dps more than you. Cause they can’t do anything else. They can’t CC, they can’t interrupt, they can’t do anything but hit the 2 buttons they’re given.
WoW threw that out the window years ago. Now as you level you get weaker. It’s just the way it is now and I don’t see Blizzard changing it.
Its been a mess for years and each time they adjust something they never actually took any sort of time to properly adjust everything and then another patch/expansion comes along with its own set of things to break the systems and then those never really get addressed.
At times, this seems to be their goal.
It’s outcome based experience.
The goal is to make every fight from 1 to 60 exactly the same.
It’s not about making their health go below 0 while yours stays above it, it’s about dancing out of circles and interrupting the CC that unplugs your keyboard and then drives your toon go dance in them.
Ahh cool I had never seen that blizz post. I guess the Sha of An…I mean Disappointment has that already.
lel probably.
Leveling dungeons are often harder than max level M+ dungeons from my experience.
Blizzard seems to have 10 people working on the game as a whole, because it appears to get as much attention as a F2P indie game.
I’d prefer difficult over faceroll, but when your tank gets chunked for 90% of their health from a few WoTLK mobs hitting them once, you begin to wonder.
Anyways, not gonna rant too much…maybe blizzcon will reveal a huge patch. Maybe not. I’m betting it’ll be a few small systems and maybe a new raid + 3 new campaign chapters max, but that’s just a guess!
But that’s what sucks, I don’t want to enter a zone at level 35 and all the level 30 mobs automatically scale up to 35… I WANT to be able to kill like 7 of them at once, its called FUN… Isn’t fun something we pay for in a video game?
It’s all about saving money on development time.
With scaling there’s no need to create enough content for every level range. No need to test it and make sure the play through works well.
Basically the game has just 4 mobs with a collection of abilities. Normal, elite, rare, big rare. And areas are just made more difficult by relative scaling differences. Most places scale to your level, some places scale to your level +2 or something.
The games become a homogenized slog because homogenized slogs are cheaper to make.
Bro it’s a leveling dungeon who cares about the damage other people are doing? What we should be talking about is the wonked scaling in BFA zones. Some of those quest mobs CLAP low level characters. They were clearly designed around having some utility that characters sub 50 don’t have. pretty wack.
Why I try to catch my weekly brokers soonest after reset in heroic pug. I see more of the 210+ crew banging these out easy before they work the mythic key game.
Get some fast runs like this.
But there already were places to level - I thought the whole point of the “level squish” were that numbers were getting too big, so they get “squished” and now they are not so big. I mean things cant get to the point where we are level 250 and doing 20 million dmg can we?
Maybe its not “saving” money but lack of it. Perhaps they can’t afford the Dev team they once could. We only see the faces they choose to show us, not devs we don’t see on a stream who’s names we don’t know who got fired.
