As I understand it, delves are designed to be solo’d if needed. Certain mobs require CC, or interrupts. But shadow of all things have some of the longest CD crowd controls. Specifically silence.
Anyone have word on how they fared in the beta?

I have not done it on shadow, but I have done delves up to 10 as holy some of this will be just as important to know.
Mind control is MPV you must use this.
Almost all mobs can be mind-controlled. Only mini-bosses, rare spawns, and bosses can’t be mind-controlled. This is a good way to thin mob packs out mind control the mob and have the others kill it. Also, since they mobs hit so hard sometimes, the MC guy can take a few guys out.
Fear is your friend, but you must talent Petrifying scream. (I was running Archon, the second scream you get from talented hero tree was actual really good.)
Fade you can now fade to drop agro to Braan, your shadowfiend which is good, take the talents to reduce the time, this most hits you take at high delves will take out around 20% of your hp.
I found for the most part I couldn’t take out sub-bosses and rare spawns most are just too much a problem. If you can skip them, skip it your benefits don’t outweigh the death count. you can use a potion of invisibility to get around them except one of the sub bosses he a guy with a mob surrounding it.
You have to pull in small groups and play very defensively or you will die at least that was for me.
As holy I had no interrupt and this was the problem, I couldn’t kill one boss because of this, Casters will hit you for 40-90% of your hp depending on the mob. You can fear or fade to deal with casters but (very important) they will start casting again immediately when they get control.
Boss/mini bosses casts are more in the 90% damage range with some of the interruptible cast albites. And the big thing these spells have a melee kick cooldown. (sorry for the bad news).
I don’t know how many instant casts you have but you need to have as many as you can for mobs will swarm you and kill you fast so no turret casting. If a mob is in your face you need to peel them or you are dead. If you cleared everything out of an area you can kite mobs, so far bosses are the only ones I found who are stuck to a zone. Also, bosses have lots of ground affects you need to avoid, or you will die.
You will need every defensive you can in order to survive, I was using translucent image, and protective light just to get DR, angelic bulwark, and desperate prayer for a second more of survival.
I can only say as holy I was healing myself a lot, I can’t say how it will go for you should be able to kill them faster than me.
Most the delves are open air so you should be able to use Mind Vision, but they will not let you in beta. If Mind Vision is usable in live, I say scout the area for the mini bosses if they are sitting on a quest objective just leave and reset the delve it is not worth the time.
I hope you can get some value for this.
That was a wonderful rundown. Thank you for your post. It’s very much appreciated.
Oh less of a priest thing but an important helpful FYI, make/buy water breathing potions.
There are two delves that are underwater (not swimming but walking on the floor) you will be to survive a lot better if you are not running air bubble to air bubble, freaking out when you start losing your breath bar. Not to mention the dumb thing you speed when you hit one and you can run off the ledges into the void.
Undead perk sounds lovely here lol.
Yes, it would be great. I was being silly and wanted to have a Nightborn just to see how they looked in the tier gear lol.
