What’s needed for 1440p?

On a 32inch 1440p 165h monitor? My cpu is a 5600x, right now I have a 1660ti and I want to upgrade enough to handle 1440p no stress.

More budget friendly, not doing the whole selling my soul thing for a 4090.

5600x is more than enough unless you’re after every single fps. Otherwise 5800x3d is the best you can get for AM4 in regards to WoW.

GPU wise is on the lower to mid tier card, so something like the 6700xt can easily play games at 1440p with the eye candies.

But at the end of the day. What are you not happy with to warrant an upgrade?

Hey, well I in general want to play at 1440p, also I want a bigger monitor currently only have a 24 inch 1080p, and I’m aiming for a multi monitor set up, so going for a 32 inch 1440p for main monitor. That’s mainly the reason why I want to upgrade my video card. Thought about ultra wide also (not those insane ones) but not sure how wow would look in that state.

6700/6750xt would be enough for you.

If you’re open to used, I would recommend trying to find a 3080 that doesn’t have any major defects (not working LED/FANS). They usually go for $550ish roughly the price of new 3070s. Though your chances with mining cards are very high.

as others have said, a 6700xt/6750xt or the nvidia equivalent. if you can budget a 5800x3d also it’ll be great

I rock a 32” 1440p

I7 9700k
RTX 3070

Settings in High
150 FPS out in world
150 FPS in instances
50FPS in new city
40Man BGs can dip to 30FPS when it’s all 80 players spamming stuff in one area.

Good to know, I was on the fence between that and a ultra wide (34) but wasn’t sure it was a good choice for wow

I’m running a 34 inch ultra wide but only 1080p. Ultra wide >>> resolution

Ultrawide is amazing for WoW as it supports it very well. I have the oled Alienware ultrawide and WoW is amazing with it.

The best part is WoW isn’t exactly the most demanding thing in the world. Was using my laptop as a daily driver for the past week or so. Has a 3070 in it which is roughly a 3060 if you compare it to the desktop equivalent. For the most part it is able to sustain 60+ fps but can dip to the low 30s during world bosses.

At regular 2560x1440p it can handle it more or less the same but with slightly less dips. Was sustaining 40 fps during world boss encounter easier
