How can Pika abandon all his fans like that for WoW classic?
And what about his team? Who can possibly fill his place when he’s the best rogue in the world?

I know you’re trolling but they had already replaced Pika with a very good Feral druid, which put their team in a pretty good position with how good Feral currently is. Especially since they then had feral SP available, and jungle which is pretty good. If you think about them last season, Pika didnt play rogue at all, he played feral, and the guy they replaced him with is a lifetime feral druid so hes very likely better at it.
However their healer Absterge recently announced he was taking a break, so idk what the plan is. I think wiz said they got a healer already, i’ve heard its meepmonk but idk for sure.
Anyway tho, wow classic is good for retail. Their subs contribute to money the company can use for retail development. Also SoD is pretty cool and it’d be interesting to see it grow and bring WoW in a diff direction.

Undead paladin has me excited to play SoD now.
Having a mage main would be crazy for their team compwise. Gonna be interesting to see how it goes not having the huge mainteam synergy though.
I played a little with him and Fuse (the feral replacement, also plays WW but not sure at what level) a couple weeks ago and their synergy is definitely there, definitely not fresh teammates for one another. I’ve also been queueing into him and Wizk every day I’ve played recently but the healer often varies for reasons that are more obvious now. hard for me to gauge the level of synergy between those 2 because I’ve been fortunate to only queue counters into them and I’ve never seen Fuse and Wizk together so no idea how they do on the same team
I think it’s gonna hinge mostly on scooping a healer who can withstand whatever deep waters tournament play takes them to, ultimately; all 3 of those dps control the game and provide a lot of security without the healer and while healer synergy (cd staggering and cycling, supplementary cc and damage, etc.) is helpful and important, I think the most important thing is just gonna be someone who’s willing and able to get pretty damp

I’ve heard its Meepmonk who they picked up, cant confirm it though but wiz did say he got a healer. If this is real it would be a pretty great choice, he plays basically every healer and knows them all well, already has multiple r1s under his belt. Only thing is he obviously hasnt competed before, but he doesnt strike me as someone whose nervous in that setting, and fresh blood in the awc is really great to see. Hopefully it really is him think that is a huge pickup for them, even if not in this awc definitely in the future.
last update I got was 24min after your first comment was posted in which he told me they still don’t have one. I asked if they’re sitting out as a result and he said 9min later that they don’t plan to and will find one. maybe wizk had someone (meepmonk perhaps) who was a “probably” though

Meepmonk HAS competed for like the past 12(?) Awcs, he just never makes it super far in the bracket BECAUSE of his nerves. He’s obviously improved a TON as a player, but he does tend to panic a LOT and has been reverse-swept more than a few times when people are losing and decide to just train him.

That’s not how businesses view things. If retail is lagging behind they’ll pocket that as profits.

@Fluent gotcha, makes sense I guess. Tried to make sure my speculation was obviously just speculation for that reason. We’ll find out who it is regardless pretty soon so either way it doesn’t matter much, I just hope they can recover because it seems like they got some great players to replace the others. And yeah don’t need to post screenshots or proof I believe you, and even if I didn’t I wouldn’t ask anyway. Hope it works out really well for them excited to see what they can do
SoD is probably the best version of wow atm in terms of Fun.
