What’s a good even pvp server?

hey i want to try this game out again with a troll shaman, but i don’t want to start on a server with a lot of horde, nor alliance

im on east coast, dunno if playing on west coast will be laggy but if it’s not too bad ill play on a server from there

any help is appreciated

Netherwind is a solid server, ally does outnumber horde but hordes are starting to xfer or rerolling here. East coast server as well.

sweet, ill check it out thanks dude

There isn’t a balanced server sorry. They simply don’t exist anymore. As soon as transfers were allowed, all servers lost balanced populations pretty much immediately.

ahh bummer

really, as long as the balance is close ill just have to deal with it, i just don’t want to be stuck on a server with like a 75/25 split y’know?

ill even accept being on the outnumbered faction as long as its not too crazy haha

Try this.

https://ironforge.pro/servers/?locale=US&realm=PvP-PvP%20RP

That is fairly recent data, not as doom and gloom as the last time I looked.

Faerlina is balanced. But…

Faerlina is not for you.

what’s faerlina like? i thought about that one but it was locked out too

Yeah you definitely don’t want to play on faerlina, they have a really obnoxious population, judging by what I’ve seen in BG chat.

I think it’s more important to look for a good culture rather than perfect balance. Make lowbies on a few servers you’re interested in, go to the capital cities and see which one looks like the most fun to you.

It’s a pretty high population (Full, I think), so there’s a large variety of people and guilds. As it’s the streamer server, that will appeal to some and not to others for various reasons.

One side-effect of this is that several guilds have rules for discord/guild chat that are streamer friendly.

The guild that I am in now has 3 raid groups, very friendly and helpful people, and is very well organized. That very much suits my preferences, but another guild may be better suited for someone whose preferences are different.

I personally really like Faerlina, in general.

Those figures represent players who both raid and log yes?

Not all players have to log. But yes, the numbers on ironforge.pro are based on warcraftlogs, which requires someone in the raid to log and upload that log to warcraftlogs.com.

To clarify you just have to be seen on a log. So anyone in the raid who uploads is enough.

Correct. It doesn’t capture the entire population, but it’s a reasonable estimate of relative balance and activity ratios. And pretty much the best we have available to us to inform our decisions.

ok cool, that’s what I thought. Its reasonable to think that the % of logged players is representative of the overall distribution.

I should have also noted that I was writing purely from my experience with alliance players from Faerlina. I don’t know which faction OP intends to roll. I haven’t done any BGs as horde yet and I have zero exposure to the horde community there, I am only reporting my experience with alliance bg chat over the last 8 months or so.
