Im beginning to get sick of paying Blizzard, only to be disappointed with their lack content, meaningful gameplay, story, etc.
It seems that everytime we receive the terrible content, we make excuses and convince ourselves that it was done for the greater good… But it hasnt happened… There has been no payoff, only more grinding. Meaningless, overwhelming, repetitive grinding. Im tired of making excuses and telling myself that I still love this game.
Nothing will change so long as everyone just keeps playing and complaining about things.
We made Blizzard the giant that they are today, and only we can tear them down. Lord knows they deserve it.
As cliche’ as it may sound, I voted with my wallet today, unsubbed and uninstalled. I wont be tricked into buying another expansion in the future. I took a chance on BFA and I still regret it.
Best of luck to all of you in the future. Even though we may not play together anymore, we are still brothers and sisters in this world, just as we were in Azeroth.
The payoff is clearing the content, the rewards is the loot, the grinding is getting ready for the content. It’s been that way since release.

Theres should be some kind of dramatic music played being the OP.
I don’t remember grinding every rep to be able to get riding or flying. I don’t remember grinding a rep with another race to be able to start over with Blood Elves, I don’t remember having to rep grind to be able to play Draeni. I don’t remember the ap grind from the first few expansion. I must have missed them.
Yeah you right, you just had to grind for loot with resis gear, grind for weapon skills and grind for soul shards to cast spells. Much better.
At least they had a point, and were not never ending. Can’t wait til i get my neck maxed out like I did my sword skill.

WoW has always had repetitive grinding.
I’d say the gameplay has mostly been much worse.

I tried to reread this twice and I can’t decipher a single thing you’re ranting about.
It’s a compilation of things you deem unworthy without an ounce of reasoning as to why.
You better believe it’s better.
You know classic is available now, so you can’t just make up exagerations?
Farming for resis gear - you mean the instances you can spam over and over for the specific items you want, and when you get them, you are done because there’s only one version of the item.
Weapon skill? The one you obtained naturally while levelling up, or can be grinded out from level 1 to max in roughly 30 minutes by just wacking on a mob for a long time.
Grind for Soul Shards - the ones naturally obtained while grinding for mobs?
None of that compares to an infinite AP grind, while the vast majority of reps are optional, especially if you PvP, and there are multiple methods for obtaining a fast mount.
Seriously, don’t pee on my leg and tell me it’s raining.
All repetitive grinding in classic is optional.
I don’t know man, my AP grind has very definite amounts for essences. Once I get to 80, that’s pretty much done.
Also saying that grinding for resis gear is better becase “There’s only one version of the item” is kind of a moot point because once you get the loot you need in retail as well, you don’t really need to go back. So it’s the same.

I do not understand this. Over its 15 year history the game has grown and changed into something that you don’t enjoy, so Blizzard should be torn down? And they deserve it? Even though there are players who do enjoy current WoW?

I feel where you’re coming from but i can’t say that i agree with us being duped, Blizzard has shown us exactly who they are time and time again over the last 5 years or so, at this stage we only have ourselves to blame if we’re still here copping Ion’s crap

Having multiple versions of an item is quite different from a single desired item.
There’s a reason things in retail are called a lottery, where it’s the same item, but higher level, or with a socket. In classic, you just map out what you want and go for it.
On the topic of essences, they may be finite, but they also take so long that they are considered alt unfriendly. Other than gear and levelling up, there’s nothing holding back an alt in classic. There’s no super long grind that needs to be repeated. Even rep items can be bought, traded, or soul, rather than being exclusive to the person with the rep.

Neither of us work for Blizzard, so neither of us know why those layoffs were made. But… Blizzard is a business, and it was a business decision. I’ve been laid off before, I’ve been outsourced, I’ve even been fired, and it was never vindictive. It was never “let’s burn down Mortimus’ player, he deserves it”.
It was always just a business decision, made for business reasons.
