I think the actual gameplay is pretty good, there’s way more comp diversity, etc right now compared to some of those bfa seasons

But I haven’t played seriously in months, due to all of the factors around gearing, covenants, etc. It takes FOREVER to grind your renown, get your legendaries, wait for your weekly chests, grind your gear, etc before you can actually play the game at a semi competitive level.

Even then finding people in LFG can be extremely rough and demoralizing.

Once you’re actually in games and have a team and a geared character, I really enjoy WoW pvp. It’s just gated behind so much other content it makes it hard to keep coming back, especially right now in this content drought

I mean you could actually gain cr and low rated games weren’t completely dictated by gear so alts where possible.

Yea I was.

Corruptions were 100x more fun.

Absolutely. I just feel like you got some rose tinted goggles on man lol

Firstly there was like two choices per spec at most.
Secondly the grind to unlock some of them sucked. Like legit as rsham I was never able to get vc because I joined a season late.

You actually have more options in SL and I’ve experimented with different covenants much more than I did with essences in BFA.

Anyways. They both suck. Tired of limiting borrowed systems lol.

I completely agree. You had some flexibility to build your character for a certain play-style. Too squishy? Vers corruption, too Tanky? Gushing, inef truth for cdr reduction you could mix multiple corruptions. It was way more fun.

a year ago i’d get tilted by DHs being passively unkillable and take out my frustration by 1v2ing the same mongrels i’d lose to in arena with wpvp potions and toad leech

today i get tilted by hybrids being similarly unkillable, except when i go to fight them in wpvp i discover that the 1400 idiot feral can heal just as much as my 15% hps potion on 65k hp just by selecting the well-honed instincts conduit

Of course not , my life gets better every year ( I am blessed)

why?

I set goals and achieve them

Corruptions where so much more fun. It actually felt like an rpg. Aside from Live lords it was pretty fun. The raid was better, visions where better than torghast, most things where soloable, corruption at least gave your gear goals instead of equipping the highest ilvl you can find a group for. Corruptions was a fun grind for me as a solo player mostly and even lower ilvl gear was good if it had a good corruption. It was more customizable than conduits, and could just be changed by changing your gear.

Now it feels like you have to grind before pushing. Things just one shot now, they basically made a few classes BFA destro lock and everyone else got the shaft. Its feels bad to be limited in power because of rating. Some folks just pushed early in the season, rushed to the end goal of 226 gear than gatekeep all the lower cr people. BFA corruptions was at least playable, and you didn’t need a set team to get higher rating.

Feel like most people who play this game now are washed out older people reminiscing about the “good ol days” of wow. No one cares man and it makes this community just a sad lump of living in the past.

well I took a break from bfa, a long one and I think I came back in April of 2020 with only about 1 million gold
my buddy and I decided that since the expansion was ending we should try to get the Brutosaur so that’s what we worked on for about 4 months
we farmed like crazy and both played the AH quite a bit
my buddy had a little more gold than me so he got to 5million a couple weeks before I did so when he quit I continued farming and eventually doing all raid lockouts that gave decent gold. Helfire Citadel seemed to be the fastest
I was getting about 90k a week from that instance alone.

so to answer your question
was it more fun than now? debatable for me but it was definitely more ‘engaging’ since I had a goal and a time limit to complete it.

was pretty proud when I got it ngl

Lol nope corruption was dumb

Dumb, yes of course.

Fun, absolutely.

It’s tricky to confuse the two.

question mark yourself

Pocket sized computation device is what im talking about, I think bfa s2 or s3, that had like 3 different card color slots. Also this world quest trinket Mr. Munchykins is pretty cool, like a little raptor dude pours you tea. Bfa trinkets were lit.

Listen man all im sayin is that the trinket selection was better in bfa, but thats about it. Also im excluding passive tanking and healing trinkets in that.

Gonna have to hard disagree

ya whatever man trinket selection and ability to sub out trinkets was just better in bfa. At least as a healer you had way more options to swaps out.

Sucks ya had to pve for a lot of those trinkets, but the trinkets were still more interesting than now.

Imo I think the trinkets were all just kinda toxic gameplay but I guess it’s just an agree to disagree

Sure things like spite, and passive tank/healing trinkets were toxic, but the others weren’t.

Like pressing claw was way better than just kek I press battlemasters.

yeah idk somethin about the triple claw stuff was super lame

maybe would be more ok with it if it didnt give mana.

yea but like bfa damage was tuned so low, I dont think the mana regen is what caused long games at all. Plus it could be dispelled.

Claw was a darn good trinket.
