I’m glad we’ve had the various changes that have been made to balance the mode and allow players to play other things than just tanks to progress. But there’s still an issue that stands out like a sore thumb to me, Twisted Crusade is in a whole other realm than the other artifact traits.
Not only is Dreadlord the highest damage, it also has Fel Spike, the most broken thing in Remix. On top of that, Fel Burst is the most powerful passive trait, and other trait(s) require Fel Burst to do their maxiumum damage.
Call of the Wild has it’s uses, sure it gives a shield, but in terms of pure, raw damage, pale in comparison to Twisted Crusade. All of the others aren’t worth taking over Twisted Crusade. The buffs to Vindicator’s were nice, and that one does heal as well, so I will give that one a pass, but some serious balances need to be made.
I’m not saying we need to nerf Twisted Crusade (Though if there was a small nerf to Fel Spike, I think it would be deserved), but the other ones deserve buffs. In the current state of remix, Artifact traits are in a unhealthy spot. It would be nice to actually have choices instead of the illusion of choices, just to go Dreadlord anyways.
I’m having a blast, but I do think this would benefit the mode very much, I would love to see people using Disc, Tempest Wrath, and more people using Vindicator’s and Call of the Wild.
Edit: Don’t know why it’s showing me as a 31 hunter, would be silly for me to have these critiques at only 31.

Hypothetically they nerf TC and Fel Spike by 1000%
Bosses still die in 12 seconds instead of 10 seconds.
Are you having more fun now?
Or was it kindve pointless?

Asking for balance in a mode with expected busted power levels is asking for less water in your ocean experience.
Like my dude(ette)…just go with it and loot your drops.

For real. Some people are putting WAY too much thought into this event.

This is the one game mode that should be completely imbalanced. It wouldn’t be as much fun without at least one borked skill.

I like the archetype fantasy the Light’s Vengeance and Everdisc give, sometimes, just for fun in the open world.… I haven’t even tried the other two at all.
Nothing is worth using other than the demon numbers wise.
But nothing matters anyway. A group of bigs smashing a mythic raid literally need to push 2-3 extra buttons than they would otherwise. I’m very often forgetting to reset my spec since I often pick the various “running” tasks where you need to be in a different tree and am not tracking so I just run it until I’m done. Most of the time the active button isn’t even on my bar.
Edit - I kinda take it a bit back. Arcane tree is SUPER annoying purely because of Arcane Ward and it makes trying to cast while moving obnoxious as hell. I run 1 jewelry letting me cast while moving and ward actively hurts my ability to speed clear stuff.
The armory doesn’t update until the character is logged out of the game and it make take time.
as a guardian druid, I am finding that I can actually do more damage and helpful group healing using vindicators judgment instead of twisted Crusade. The cool down is a little bit longer, but honestly, I get more benefit from vindicators judgment. basically I can pull much larger groups and burn them down faster every 90 seconds.
Those healing balls can come in handy… coming from someone playing a magemallow.
I know it sounds crazy to say, but vindicators judgment feels a lot like convoke the spirits in bear form. Not only am I hitting solar beams on everything like I would as a balance druid, but I’m also hitting heals on everything like I would as a Resto druid. it makes it so nice to group up about 40 or 50 mobs and then just mow them down. and the healing orbs that happen after the fact, feel a lot like the green orbs put out by monks. combine that with the run through enemies’s ability for more damage and the teleport back to where I was to regain the Agro it’s insane.
this, the complete lack of original thought you have to have to get mad that things arent perfectly balanced in remix. like maybe dont act like the meta has a gun to your head in a mode where you could face smash the OBR button and everything dies.
I literally have for fun jewelry and trinket sets just to change the color of the particles that fly off me because it just doesnt matter. hell 99% of my felspike uses are for one shotting trash mobs i could’ve 2-3 shotted because those 5 seconds saved are more than it would ever save in a boss fight.

Twisted crusade hardly even matters in groups with stacked players. Most of the time, I’m not even able to get my fel spike out before the bosses die in mythic raid. Currently at 400 vers and my normal rotation is sufficient to blow everything up. Felspike seems to benefit fresh 740 players way more than stacked players.
In high mythic+ i’m actually thinking of using the artifact trait with the CD reduction… I think it’s the grove warden one? With the shield? Not certain if it would be worth it, but going to give it a try later this week.

The difference in the skill trees was a little annoying at first but as versatility increases and things die faster which tree you picked is largely irrelevant unless you are pushing keys.
I started out in the storm tree. I almost never used the ability as a mage but I just wanted to move while casting. Now I’m in the nature tree for the 30% damage buff, which seemed more useful to me than a damage spike on a nearly 2min cd
They just buffed a bunch of stuff today, but I still don’t know if much is worth using (at least as a solo player) besides maybe Call of the Forest. Part of Twisted Crusade’s power in higher keys is how passively good it is without interaction.
Meanwhile, both Naran’s Everdisc and Tempest Wrath require active contribution in the form of picking up powerups (either the disc itself, or the water orbs). Both of those mechanics suffer from awful collision issues which cause you to have to run over them multiple times to register or just become missed entirely. The Everdisc in particular is terrible and has been since PTR; the number of times it just slides right through me as though I don’t exist is simply unacceptable.
I really wanted to like Tempest, even if its damage was worse. Free mobile casting without spending a jewelry slot is worth something, right?
But it sucks mechanically.
Really bad.
The water blobs being hard to see isn’t so bad on its own.
The lightning damage radius is tiny, that’s what truly ruins it. You have to be standing in melee, making the water blobs absolutely impossible to see. And they’ll trail out so far you’re no longer doing damage to anything.
Twisted Crusade doesn’t require anything fiddly to blow up a trash pack, besides standing in the center for a second. Pop it, spike it, millions and millions of damage done.

Absolutely. I think I have had more fun here because of stuff like this. I don’t care about balance and don’t have to worry about praying for a pic drop. It’s a limited time event to collect mounts, toys, and mogs and just blow stuff up.
It is t about parsing to be the best:
I use tempest on my stormcaller enhancement shaman. The thematics are spot on.
The numbers are irrelevant when everything drops in seconds.

I’d definitely rather buff everything else than nerf TC, but it is obnoxious. One of the things I found super cool early on was that the Infinite Researches integrated all types of content and artifact paths, but every other trait feels so underwhelming.
I’m also just not a big fan of Fel Spike. Could they really not just add a timer for when the Dreadlord is about to disappear, or make it activate automatically at the end if you miss it? I know there’s a WA, but I don’t usually mess with those.
What do you expect? There’s like 2 pure DPS options, of course it’s going to outpace the others do you want the healing one to match its DPS it becomes #1 instead because it does both?
