We're Going to Undermine But

…not as a Tinker.

Seriously, could this expansion be any less perfect for a Tinker class? Missed opportunity.

They still have time to add tinker in game, they don’t need to give us all the information upfront.
They didn’t announce augmentation spec when they showed us evoker.

Why would we? Tinker makes no sense in a void expansion. A void melee class makes way more sense.

Have you not been paying attention? There’s a whole race of robot dwarves and machine speakers in an entire zone. The next major patch is a massive Goblin city. The only thing void has been enemies.

And we already have Void Elves. Just be a melee class on them.

TWW certainly isn’t a void expansion. That’s what Midnight probably will be. We’re setting a large stage in this one. I highly doubt there will be any direct void involvement in the goblin raid.

Just be an engineer on … any class.
Joking aside – what exactly would a tinker class add to this game? And keep the answers realistic, think about what devs would allow a playable class to do.

For starters, duel pistols, turrets, mech suit tank, gadgets to heal, laser guns, bombs, missiles, drill arms, freeze guns, flamethrowers…you know, all the things we’ve seen Tinkers like Mekkatorque and Gazlowe do. Two racial leaders with a class that isn’t playable.

This is a game with lots of sci fi/steampunk elements and not a single class that represents that side of WoW. That’s what a Tinker do.

Maybe the reason only NPC faction leaders exhibit these abilities is because they would be too powerful for a playable class.
Or we get a greatly downgraded version for players, and in an instant the fantasy of a tinker is forever tainted in the Warcraft universe.

What? Literally all the other classes have abilities that are modeled after overpowered NPCs lol

But yet none of them do “tinker” things. They don’t deploy turrets, they use a robot yes, but that would be a janky mechanic at best, and…they shoot electricity I think? Which shamans already do. Engineer proff = tinker class.

I love how people playing a class the devs couldn’t even think of a third spec for are the ones arguing against this…

Archetypes yes.
And I asked you to describe what playable tinkers might be and you listed everything the archetypes do.

Because a robot is good for fighting things with mind control /nod

Thank god they’re not adding that horribly boring class to the game tbh

Maybe this introduces them and Tinker is the new class in Midnight? I mean, we saw Demon hunters before we played one, and up til now, all tinkers have been loons. We just need to meet a group who has it all under control… like the Illidan time jump for Demon Hunters.

I know right… I mean the way they FORCE us to play races and classes… DISPICABLE!

Nothing I described was overpowered. Literally every ability in the game is a downgraded version of something a NPC can do.

The player’s freeze gun wouldn’t freeze a whole room in instant death like Mekkatorque. It would operate like other player abilities, same as when druids had hurricane didn’t wipe out a whole zone like Malfurion.

Did you not meet the machine speakers?

Take advice from the past: Fight fire with fire. Warlocks fought the legion/Illidan with fel. So did dhs. Dks used the power of frost/unholy/blood against LK. Shadow priests fought N’zoth with void and Xal’atah’s help. If it works it works.

Lame race tbh. They are what you get when you combine Dr Octopus from spider man with dwarfs. Just meh.

Exactly… and the Lore goes WAY back…

Gazlowe is one of the best tinkers of all time, and Goblin tinkerer just makes sense. Gnomes too.
