Bernie Sanders is on the Senate floor right now filibustering the defense bill until the Senate agrees to vote on the $2000 relief bill. The Senate will have to stay until New Year’s unless they agree to vote on it because of that.

It didn’t seem like $2k was Pelosi’s first choice but she jumped on it to throw progressive Dems a bone and to put the heat on the Senate after trump set the current chaos in motion.
