We're being lied to

Layering is sharding, sharding is retail garbage. I hate sharding with a passion, I wanted to play Classic but now? Private servers are doing it better.

2 weeks till launch, layering isn’t going anywhere. Fix it at least Blizzard.

Fix
It…

Even better, remove it.

Go cry us a river… Layering is here for launch. Deal with it or don’t play. We don’t need to keep hearing all you people wine about it.

You said it yourself, it’s two weeks until release, layering ain’t go nowhere.

Fixed that for ya.

If it’s here to stay then it should at least work as intended, right now it doesn’t.

Lol, what is this, your third post today on this?

I bet you’re a flat-Earther and believe the moon landing was faked, too. Try taking the tinfoil hat off for a day.

Layering killed my new baby kitten. I demand reparations. :sunglasses:

Why joke about a broken product? This is absurd.

You are aware that this is another “Stress test” right?

I personally have not seen any sharding in the stress test. I’ve only seen layering. I don’t zone in and out of a “shard” just by proximity to the shard or at a different point in a quest then others. I phase from layer to layer depending on population.

You’re just so used to calling it sharding when anything phases out, that you can’t understand how the tech is different.

Why whine about something that’s not going to change?

the only joke here is you

Do you have blinders on? Have you not seen the exposure on this? Have you not read the Blizzard feedback thread?

It’s happened to me, it’s sharding. When it happens to you, maybe then you’ll waken up.

I guess it’s all fun and games until it interrupts your gameplay, ahaha JuSt A sTrEsS tEsT

You aren’t divulging some Deep-Blizzard-State secret by your shocking revelation that layer is in fact sharding.

Please knock it off, ffs, everyone knows this already. Go take a walk, unplug, whatever you gotta go.

No updates, no plans on fixes. Just a passive retail playerbase is left…

ok

While I’m sure many people are sick of all the layering posts, the one thing the community should pay attention to is whether Blizzard holds up to what they stated. Simply meaning, layering is going in for launch, it might be the best option to handle population stability/measurement, but if it isn’t removed within the first few weeks the community needs to take action.

We are giving them the benefit of doubt for now, but the moment statements like “we need to evaluate a bit longer, populations are higher than anticipated, etc” start, and you know we have an issue.

My plan is simple here. I hate layering too.

  • after launch I expect it to be only in beginner zones.
  • only during launch for a few weeks.

If it moves to other zones, or stays longer, means they lied to us and I’ll cancel asking for refund. Because my purchase is in good faith, and they made a promise they have to keep. In CA verbal promises are legally binding. If they don’t hold up their end of the bargain, I don’t have to either.

I think it would be exceptionally naive to not assume that’s exactly what will happen.

Blizzard is as passive as it’s fanbase, same thing happened with BFA. Feedback was given, 100’s of threads. Some in great detail, rank 1 players, respectable raiders, etc…

No fixes upon launch.

Classic WoW is coming, when they announced Classic they said they would create an authentic experience. Then they said we would have sharding in the starting zone, then they said we will have layering during phase 1. Except layering is still sharding, video exposure has proven this and I have experienced it myself.

Blizzard says forums are best place for feedback, so here we are just like we are here during beta’s for new expansions with feedback but to no avail. Blizzard doesn’t listen.

They must know Layering doesn’t work as intended but I guess no updates because they don’t know how to fix it, so we’re stuck with it. So why implement a broken system that they don’t know how to fix?

Such a passive community Blizzard has.

“You cant see the forest for the trees”
I’m a realist by nature, but there is much more I look forward to in this Classic experience despite potential issues. I choose to see how the cards fall.

What do you mean with “passive”? if i remember correctly, people tried their very best to provide Blizzard with great feedback, Activiblizzard is just increasingly better at ignoring it. What else do you want from people? to drive to Irvine and bang on their doors? lmao

I mean, it’s to the point where the majority of players are like “whatever it’s fine stop whining” which hurts the game imo.

If you read that while being a fan of classic and aren’t saddened by it, doubt you’re a true fan.
