The game is currently unplayable for me.
I have an Nvdia Ge Force RTX 2080 Super and never had any issue in any game.
Is there something I need to adjust in the display menu or do I need to change my video card to play TWW ?

I’m on a 3080 and I’ve noticed this as well since the patch, I’ve gone from 100 FPS to ~40-60 FPS. When I do a /reload ui
it restores the framerate for a while, so I suspect it could be one of my addons causing the issue. Maybe the same is true for you?
Disabled all my addons, reload UI, still get 24 FPS.
Game is unplayable for me .
I have to find the issue.
I have a 2080TI and I’m having frame rate issues too. Dropping down to like 3 at some times. Highest I’ve gotten to is about 40fps. Was also sitting 100+ before prepatch.
So I will be forced to change my video card, what do you guys suggest ?
Go to graphics and scroll all the way to the bottom and under combability settings and uncheck all the new features. These were added in the prepatch that help give framerate boost to high end PCs but are turned on by default with the patch.
Optional GPU Features
Async Resource Creation
Multithreaded Rendering
Frame Overlap
Advanced Work Submit
No, I would wait and see what Blizz are doing to fix this issue.
I’m currently sitting on a 3k rig that I built 4 months ago. I’ve been running around with 200+ Fps (Except major cities) with almost everything on ultra. After this update I also go down to 60 fps randomly just running around in Westfall. Your graphics card is not the issue here, their game is.
As far as I know, they’ve already been in use under the hood for a while, probably since the DF prepatch or even earlier with some of them. They just finally exposed them to users to help with troubleshooting. Now they can just say “go try disabling these easy to find settings and see if the problem resolves itself” when trying to help people.
I did uncheck all of them in the bottom part of the graphic tabs.
Same results, I cannot get more than 24 FPS from an NVidia GeForce RTX 2080 8Gb super…
Now I checked the specs of a ASUS Dual GeForce RTX 4060 8Gb and some test shows it equal to my card…
Does that mean I need to buy a top of the line MSI Gaming GeForce RTX 4070 Ti to play TWW ?
Can t play at 24 FPS right now…
That’s really odd because I’m using a 2080 FE(weaker than the super version) and stay reflex boost capped to 116(120hz) on slider 10 settings in Org with a million people running around, on Area52. Even in SL/DF zones, don’t think I’ve ever seen it drop below the cap. Valdrakken, maybe, if there’s a ton of people there, but definitely not down that low.
EDIT: I just checked Valdrakken fountain and am sitting at 85-100fps on max settings, depending on which direction I’m looking. So yeah, you’ve definitely got something weird going on. Oh and that’s with a 13600kf as a CPU, since areas like that are very CPU bottlenecked.
Can you also verify that your max fore/background limits are correct? There’s a known issue with Nvidia’s Geforce Experience app where it sometimes mixes up the foreground and background limits and ends up capping the foreground really low.
Also, post a DXDIAG report on pastebin.
You mean the Max Fore/background in the Graphic Menu in game ? If so, what should be the value of those ? (i.e.: enabled or disabled and FPS).
I created a file for my DXDIAG but trying to find a way to insert it in this message.
You can try disabling both of them by unchecking the options. Also, verify that your render scale is set to 100%, it’s toward top of the graphics options. If it were accidentally set to say 200%, your frame rate would tank due to it having to render 300% more pixels.
As for the DXDIAG, you can upload it to pastebin.com
and post the link here. select the link text and then press the </> in the formating options above to make it look like this
Unchecked both ax Fore/background, check render sclae, it is at 100%.
Still getting 24 FPS.
Here is a copy of my DXDIAG
I’ve never seen:
DxDiag Previously: Crashed in DirectShow (stage 1). Re-running DxDiag with "dontskip" command line parameter or choosing not to bypass information gathering when prompted might result in DxDiag successfully obtaining this information
in any DXDIAG report and I’ve looked at hundreds over the years…
Your GPU drivers aren’t up to date
Also, the report is missing like 90% of it. Some of the most important stuff is at the very end of the report.
Thank you very much for helping me on this issue.
I just updated my GPU drivers to the latest version dated 7/16/2024.
Still getting the 24 FPS. Weird, it seems like a setting is limiting the card to this 24 FPS.
Here is the complete DxDiag file with no ''don’t skip" at time of generating the DxDiag file.
Maybe try checking your nvidia control panel? There are max frame rate settings in there in both the global and program settings tabs. If the global one is fine, check the program settings tab for wow.exe and make sure it doesn’t a cap.
Also, make sure you have no apps open like MSI Afterburner (it can also load RTSS which has frame rate limiting options in it)
Now that 24fps, is it happening absolutely everywhere? Like if you go into some old zone like the human starting zone, you’re getting a locked 24fps?
The refresh rate is set at 23hz, which may be the issue.
2560 x 1440 (32 bit) (23Hz)
Howdy Everyone,
Wanted to drop in here and say we have an known issue with the VRS settings in graphics. If you happen to have this turned on please uncheck it and see if that helps.
Thank you for your suggestion.
My VRS mode is disabled and I am still getting 24 FPS on this set-up:
Intel(R) Core™ i7-9700K CPU @ 3.60GHz 3.60 GHz w/ Nvdia GeForce RTX 2080 Super
I am a little bit concerned about getting only 24 FPS as it makes the game unplayable.
Do you guys think my CPU could create a bottleneck ?
Did you check the refresh rate?
The dxdiag has it at 23hz.
