Welp, Skyfury is dead

What “tech” is out there that is currently better than Blizzard’s “tech”?

This is the way.

Rifts shard system

Incorrect - read blue post carefully

If you think servers cant handle the player count in 2022 you are a silly person. there is either a hardware sollution a software sollution…or a combination of the two, the point being there is a fix…it just costs money.

What system is that? Why do you think that would work for WoW even though WoW and Rift are not the same game?

You’re not answering my question. My question again:

What does that say about all the preschoolers that took the transfers then?

I mean, there are 20 examples of them absolutely not monitoring them… and 0 examples of them monitoring them.

Soooo yeah im gonna go with the friday afternoon not following.

i did answer your question…you just copy and pasted the part where i didnt XD

It’s almost like Blizzard said that opening a second PvP server to alleviate queues would most likely lead to one server being the “horde” server and the other being the “alliance” server.

And Skyrim ran on the Morrowind engine. WoW is old, it was never rewritten from scratch. Updates won’t fix foundational limitations, they’d need to make an entirely new engine and port the current game over.

Maladath, no que time, robust population, easy to get groups or team up for quests. No incessant world ganking / griefing which leads to 99% of 1 faction making the server a defacto PvE.

Bottom line: MALADATH BEST SERVER

Actually in that very same post he goes on to explain that, while it’s technically possible to have what he’s describing, the game would have had to have been built from the ground up with that in mind. Something that would cost about as much as making WoW 2. While we might not think it’s fair, at the end of the day, this is a business, and they want to make money. They weren’t going to spend that much in the way of resources for something they didn’t even think would be that popular.

Its unlimited… Trust me.

All that stops it is a human looking at graphs and manually turning it off.

But its a weekend, the people who do that wont be working. Its unlimited.

Saw it on Incendius, Saw it on Firemaw. Dont be naive.

No you didn’t. I’m asking you what “tech” exists that is currently better than what Blizzard uses. Answer that question please.

Further proof they have no idea what they are doing.

like i said…there is either a hardware or a software sollution, or both.

I think in this history of the world… absolutely the technology exists.

In the structure / coding / environment that WoW is in… hell no.

It would need to be a completely different game built with entirely new code and structure for them to have the appropriate technology. Something absolutely not feasible and isnt even really an option.

The shard system is a collection of servers linked up. Basically xrealm but before xrealm and better. You can raid and everything, achievements and shard firsts are handed out via the host shard. So if you got shard first kill of a boss on greybriar. It would not be first on faeblight. You got credit for it on briar, so couldn’t earn it on blight.

If you wanted to xfer, it was free. Select move shard every 30 days. Your guild was multi shard. Pvp was optional as you could be on pve and enter a pvp shard to have open world pvp when you wanted it.

Xfering and playing on a shard were different. You could play on any of them so your shard only mattered for firsts or latency.

Yeah, shards are not a solution for Classic. You want that sort of thing, go to retail.
