This may be a personal bad take on my end, but any class that only has 1 DPS spec should never be at the bottom of the charts. Now thats not saying they should be at the very tippity top, but at the very least middle of the pack.

And even then we need to look at the specific bosses.
Afflictions looks really strong, but when you look at the fights, they just have some bosses where they destroy the meter due exclusively to the fight logistics and spread target DPS.
Inversely, Ret is absolutely horrible at these scenarios and there are several of them.
When there’s just one bosse or close cleave its doing much better.
In fact, its bad for all melee and, what do you know, the chart you’re referring to in Heroic has 8 of the last 9 spec (excluding Aug) being melees.
You know what’s also bad at spread cleave but not as bad as melees?

And you shouldn’t look at all percentiles, these would include degenerate edge case that skews the graph.

Maybe you should spend more time looking at your own logs–you know, that 13% parse on Rik Reverb–and focus less on what the absolute top, class-stacking guilds are doing. Also ret is doing very well in M+, so just stop whining in general.
why make it personal like that? that’s not a constructive answer at all. Ret struggles in raid just based on fight design, like basically all melee. He didn’t even reference class stacking on Hall of Fame guilds.
his 13% parse has nothing to do with it, he didn’t have 100% uptime(72%) on Mythic pulls which means he was either down or helping with mechanic’s and the sample size on two kills is way too small to base an opinion on. his heroic parses are also all significantly better than yours, so I would guess he knows Ret well enough to know how it does in keys.

The difference between us is that you’re in here complaining about the class’ ultimate potential and blaming Blizzard for your shortcomings when you’re personally not coming close to that and should be working with the tools you have and improving yourself. If you find it weird to look someone up in logs, it shows that you don’t actually use them and are just mindlessly puking up stuff about tier lists because you don’t actually want to engage with the information used to create it. my brother in the light you have a 74% average blue parse with a 60 parse medium in heroic with your strongest parse being vex where your entire heroic group is doing normal raid levels of dps. while also giving you free wings from the 3 deaths in said raid pull

I never said I was proud of my logs or that blizzard is to blame for those parses. Whatever my parses are I own them and don’t care who sees. My key parses are just fine on all of my 3k characters since I actually try though but keep looking at my alt’s logs :D.
