Dropping this here in case anyone else is tempted to be as dumb as me. I bought the Chronoboon Displacer item from Chromie on an SOD server, thinking it would be a permanent version or something b/c it was 10g.
But even though it’s a different item (doesn’t stack with the items bought from a reagent vendor). It’s apparently just a different version of the reagent vendor one. The vendor does happily buy it back for more than reagent vendor version (20s vs 2.5s). So it’s only a 9.8g mistake.
Tried to ask Blizz to pardon my stupidity for thinking they could be different, and their guidance was to publicly complain on the forums. So here I am.
Honestly, I did think my solution was pretty reasonable. Just give me 10g worth of Chronoboons valued at the reagent vendor price. Like, I’m willing to live with my click and gold spent. And it would actually still be an inconvenience to take up all that bag space, but at least I’d feel whole. But alas, ofc that too was unreasonable in the eyes of Blizz.
Anyway, I hope I’ve saved at least one other idiot out there 9.8g with this post.
