Wellspring seems orders of magnitude off its competing node

When was the last time this node was played?

Even if you unleash it it just puts 200K absorb shields on the targets lol… A Temporal Anomaly is like 6 times as powerful.

Seriously though when was the last time Wellspring was used, I actually cannot remember and am curious? This node feels like it could fix some problem or help some build layout but seems totally forgotten from a tuning perspective.

I feel like it was meta back in shadowlands (shuddering)

DRE is just way too great and fun of a talent to use.

Whispering Waves build with DRE is the most fun I’ve had healing on my shaman in a while.

Whispering waves is powerful, but fun? It plays like a disc priest putting atonements out. I play it because I have to in hard content, but it’s the most boring shaman has been since vanilla. And it moves us from an interesting role of burst healer who has to manage mana to an spam ramp healer, of which there’s already several.

I personally think it’s reasonably fun and good concept. However –

They need to change Tidewaters to something else or make Healing Rain relevant. Whispering Waves should work with Healing Surge imo. And the playstyle is wayyyy too dependent on momentum to keep their HPS up. Movement preventing even one or two globals is devestating when the way you get ancestors is via casting.

I still think just making Healing Rain instant cast + 15 second duration and having the Healing Rain summon the Ancestor instead of Undulation/Unleash Life would flow way better.

In Aberrus, DF Season 2 it was a bit more fleshed out as a whole, using Healing Rain to build stacks, then spreading Riptides and stacking Undulation + Prim wave + Ancestral Awakening proccing on each target to do a giant burst heal that could Lay on Hands the entire raid. Then you could catch that in cloudburst or replicate it with Ascendance to do fun stuff.

The current implementation just feels like a shell of what it was though. Like they wanted to implement something more fleshed out but forgot halfway through what they were working on. Then dropped it totally.

Yeah, constant DRE procs are awesome, as well as being more mobile with so many Riptides and no Healing Rain. It’s much more fun than totemic, which I played the first two seasons. You can absolutely blast healing with Ancestral Swiftness.

I enjoy powerful spot healing because you can save lives more easily. We still have a lot of aoe healing if that’s the route you want to go. Totemic is still great from an HPS standpoint if you like the gameplay.

This is actually the first way I learned to play r sham. Healing wave w riptide and crashing waves.

I am just so glad stupid primordial wave is dead.
