Well, we're in Microsoft town now

shrug
I’ve had an MS ID, user account, whatever they call them these days for decades now.
From all the way back in the MSN messenger days. I think I got mine back around just before the release of XP.

I miss those old messenger apps really, and I liked XP Pro alot more than everything after it also. I could pare it down to less than 15 running services and using less than 400MB of ram used. Just imagine how fast our PCs would be if we still had that. My current CPU has enough on die memory to run the whole OS.

I have a feeling nothing of note is going to change in WoW after this, and if it was done behind the scenes without anyone knowing the playerbase would be completely unaware.

But we shall see.

I’m going to leave this here for some Fallout 3 vibes.

Was really hoping this deal would get shot down. Microsoft is the Disney of tech…nothing good will come from this.

Why do they call it the Xbox 360?

My view is it’s not like activision blizzard leadership BEFORE Microsoft came into the picture was stellar. On top of that read through the hundreds of forum posts all over these very boards — for a long time people have felt wow has been feeling stale and “not like Warcraft “ .

Microsoft has bags of cash and it seems passion for wanting to improve gaming in general so I welcome what changes they bring.

They are fresh eyes and minds on Warcraft Diablo over watch (though I don’t play it anymore) etc maybe it’ll be good.

Besides all the “we should be scared” posts are meaningless because it’s nothing we can do to stop whatever MS plans on doing.

Our power of consumers only kicks in AFTER the changes when we vote with our money if we like those changes or not.

Finally even then we can’t sway them if it’s just a small % of us (customers) not buying their games. Need a vast amount of customers to say “no thanks” to enact change.

Does this mean we get the goblin quest joking about buying another yacht back?

Bill Gates hasn’t been actively involved with Microsoft for about 20 years now.

come on now… we can’t get all furious when you state facts!

Since when has that stopped the GD outrage machine?

Actually, Bill spends most of his free time on his Xbox playing Goat Simulator.

Unfortunately, it is an original XBOX because his employee benefits ran out already.

Fable III is a beautiful and stunning Microsoft game. I especially love the /fart ability. Someone really a superb job on the /fart animation. Kudo to the fart animation designer!

Technically he’s been on the board until 2020.

Yep… We are now gonna see where it takes wow…

Not sure quarterly meetings qualifies as active. The board mainly oversees the C-Level to make sure they comply with investor wishes. Sure if the company was having problems they would get involved to replace the CEO but that really hasn’t been the case with Microsoft.

I bought a PSone to play Diablo 1 console version specifically, I only ever got like 2 other games for it. Not exactly a recent development. D3 is still one of the better games on the Xbox to this day. It’s probably still up there with GTA Online as far as reasons people turn on their Xbox. It is truly a multiplatform franchise and was always intended to be.

Can I still use Chrome to log onto Battle Net or do I need to use Edge now?

You’ll never need to use Edge to access any Microsoft sites. It’s only necessary when reward points are involved.
