Kind of obvious but did you try the valley of honor? In my experience you can get some walk up there but the quality might vary.

Nine times out of ten, if anyone is talking about a stranger they interact with IC it’s a terrible experience. That’s far worse than the actual odds. Therefore, people are unreasonably eager to ignore players they don’t know.

People are not obligated to offer RP to others if they feel uncomfortable or unsafe. There’s nothing unreasonable about it.

Ok I just made a random alt and wandered around Stormwind, walking up to as many people as I could. The walk-up thing IS difficult. It’s nerve-wracking. Nerve-racking? How do you spell it. UGH. No matter. I felt like a dumbarse and it made me want to delete the character. So… OP… I get ya, man. -.-

I don’t think anyone was really saying it was easy, I more so took issue with how aggressive OP’s original post was towards people on the realm.

Everyone starts somewhere. No one just has RP fall into their lap unless they take action or get lucky and get some walk ups. I don’t have a clique to regularly RP with and I’ve been here for months now.

If walking up to strangers is too much, then perhaps a guild is a better fit for someone.

I will admit that I don’t do walk ups simply because it makes me incredibly anxious. I wish it didn’t though, I miss out on tons of RP because of it. Maybe one day!

As someone who lacks any real clique horde-side and just enjoys the broader community, that has never been my experience with any character, even a fresh low-info profile. And it has never been my experience that people ignore walkups. It’s hard not to feel like you came to the forums just to rag on us without actually trying, with the attitude you’ve shown.

I’m very sorry that you had this experience, and I do agree with you that cliques are heavy on the Horde-side of the server (unsure of the Alliance side, since my Alliance don’t really RP.)

However, I do want to say that there are many guilds and individuals that would accept you in their community. If you went to Orgrimmar for RP, a lot of Orgrimmar RP is… well, meh. It has a reputation for being a little troll-ish, and a little clique-ish.

I hope that you consider returning and come to forums to find an amazing RP guild. There are many of them out there. Good luck, OP. <3

I disagree tbh. I often go to Orgrimmar alone and walk right up to people I’ve never met, and have interesting, serious RP.

Firstly OP, kudos to you for trying RP; its tough at first. Keep at it.

I initiate walk up RP allot and 9/10 it gets no response. But 1/10 you get something cool.

There’s lots of ‘advice’ on this thread of varying quality; take what you like and leave the rest.

My advice: don’t be overly concerned about your backstory or RP add-on profile and be cautious of people who are.
