Well, the RNG won the war, and completely defeated me. I'm quitting

2 weeks. Average 18- 20 Treat Bags a day. Getting up every hour through the night to get extra bags. Doing the Daily Fire event for extra chances. Over 200+ bags (not including last year) and still the game decided that 19/20 masks was all I was allowed to get. A missing mask I know I got back in classic era. Great. I put in the work, dedicated my time, and I get nothing. As I can now never get this achievement that was completely random and I had zero ability to influence it at all, I’ve lost all interest in continuing. First Lich King kill I get, I’m out.

Gratz, Blizz, you defeated another customer.

The key is to not want it.

I can’t complain about this event. got crap I never expected or was not really looking for it.

Ofc rng is going to make me pay for it for a good long while. RNG being nice to me always has a cost lol.

That’s okay, I ran the HH five times a day everyday and never got the mount. But I simply shrugged and said “oh well”. Sometimes these things happen.

Mount only dropped from the first kill of the day

Per account ,Or per character ?

Drop was per character

As the op said rng is a fickle god, my buddy got it first kill when he hit 78, this is my third year doing HH nothing, and on retail it took me like 7 years

I have like 4 sitting in my bank and I deleted some of them.

The mount is a buggy mess anyways.

Ah good, then I did not waste my time. You had me worried for a second.

Long as you do the event every day on all your eligible alts you were doing it right, rng was just not giving its blessing.

Assuming a probability of 50 % to get a bag and of 40 % for the bag to contain a mask, you’ll need to talk to an inn keeper about 360 times on average, which at minimum takes 360 hours. But: The event itself only lasts for 336 hours (14 days). So on average you won’t be able to complete the achievement during the event in spite of receiving a bag on cooldown (which is an insane amount of… let’s call it determination).

The unluckiest person needs 1,717 chats with the inn keeper. If you somehow managed to speak to the inn keeper eight times a day, this would take you 215 days (or 16 years due to the limited availability of the event)!

That was from last year. That’s why they removed that meta achievement. Classic has an end date. There is a point in time where it stops progressing forward.

People stress about the oddest things in this game. I can’t imagine looking at the RNG and seeing that you are unlikely to win what you want, you participate and don’t win what you want, and then get so upset about it, you quit the game.

I don’t think anyone will shed that many tears for this unsub.

If it makes you feel better I never got a valentine’s day mount in almost 20 years.

One of the lowest drop rates in the game and only a week to get it every year

Really? I swear I got it like 5 times this year.

The masks aren’t important anyway

It literally took me 14 years to get the HH mount.

5 toons = 5 chances.

OP seems to be a “little” obsessive. Waking up every hour for a mask?

After playing since the end of vanilla through all of WoW, doing the event regularly each October I finally got the mount in classic wrath. That’s a little over a decade of bad RNG.

Different people play the game for different reasons. I’ve seen the same thing done with profession cooldowns, world quests, titles, etc.
