Well im done blizzard thanks for nothing

I have been playing wow since Vanilla, I wanted to play a fire mage, why its about 1 of the more enjoyable specs to play. I have tried frost which is utterly boring and arcane is just as bad.
Constantly I have posted on the numbers of a pure dps spec who gets ruined by other classes who are not dps speced classes. No balance everyone is cookie cutter. You have made each class so much the same that its ruined the damn game.
ON top of it after playing one expansion after another with your promises to fix certain classes, you dont follow through and your just a bunch of 2 faced liars.
Instead of fixing a class you just say roll another character. Hey, you roll another character and level it that isnt fun anymore.
Since you all seem to suck at math 101 and cant seem to figure out simple math im done with this total joke of an expansion.
BFA really what war vs who? Its all pve

Thanks for the laugh.

Dont’t be jerks, guys. People are unhappy with a service the’ve been paying for, and probably you too are unsatisfied with some aspects of the game, that’s all. Our world is already full of hate and unpleasantness, you don’t need to contribute with it

I thought Fire was in a good place?

The specs are all kind of boring or just have some really annoying rng BS.

That whole Blastermaster gimmick was pretty fun but that is gone now, really I think mage is just showing it’s age.

I think fire is in a good spot imo…i’m having fun with it despite sometimes chaining fireballs waiting for a crit lol and unlike frost my ST is great…

I dont know why people seem to still think that a class that only has dps speccs is supposed to do more dps. That is not a thing anymore, the “hybrid” tax is such an old concept there are people reading this that have no idea what i am talking about.

I am sorry the specc is not fun for you to play. I change mains every few expansions, maybe you should try somethig else.

As a long time hardcore ret paladin, hybrid tax was always a stupid reason.

But in general chaining 6 fireballs feels real bad. Fire needs a lot of gear for it to be fun yes but the other two options aren’t really engaging.

Tbh I feel like living bomb could be fun, atleast more than flamestrike… Pyroblast feels weak to me idk.

remebers WoD fire with sandman’s pouch

Play your class with no mods none nada for the game and what its worth then get back to me on it. After 13 years of WOW and mage being my primary spec. I just cant do this anymore the frustration every expansion.
Now arcane is tops or its frost or its fire and around we all go again!
Do some pvp why does every class get a damn heal spell? Why because blizzard cant balance the game. You make a class your a healer thats what you do you dont bounce into a bear form and get to heal yourself so much you may as call you a palabear. Bounce back to heal now dps spec really?? Make a class play like its supposed to hes a death knight not rogue or a warrior…Its not hard.
Well BFA the story plot is bad all around, we went from the demon slaughter to now back to killing 20 pigs some bears and collect those claws…Constant promises yet the delivery is more LEWT free epics around to keep the sheep happy. Ok ill stop now.
D

P.s I played Fire from the start I dont want to play Frost or Arcane they are the most boring specs in the game.

I know I am in the minority here, but Arcane doesn’t bore me. I DO, however, wish there was more to the class in general. A lot of the flavor of all of the specs has really been stripped and removed, leaving a lot of blandness to the class in general. I don’t really feel like a mage anymore, I feel like a shell of what the class used to be in any of the last expansions. Whoever said the class is showing it’s age is well spoken.

I mean, the good news is… We’re getting a 4 second channeled full heal soon… when we all go Zandalari.

rofl when tanks can outdps a dps class there is just something wrong here…
Look I have played a long time look at my AP ive done most everything this game has to offer but its now just boring…and i am tired of complaining about mage class every expansion. Hell most classes are the same make no class just give us a skill tree at this point because to many classes are really the same thing

Hmm… ive played mage since vanilla as well and can say all 3 mage specs are fine. Its a l2p issue if your being outdone by tanks love. But its ok, do what you must to get ur satisfaction out of your 15$ a month.

And I’m sure you wouldn’t make such a broad and sweeping claim without providing logs with tanks out dpsing a dps

Uhm, you realize all 3 mage specs are viable right?

I mean, viable means different things to different people.

Try playing Frost Mage vs. Fire Mage for Mythic G’huun phase 3. Frost Mage you have to plant your feet and hard cast a lot of spells which is hard with so much going on. Yes, there are Frost Mages with very good parses, but it’s because their raid allows them to plant their feet and get casts off - most raids aren’t like that. Fire Mage you can run around the whole time with Scorch and it’s much easier to handle the mechanics. Both are viable, but they require two completely different skill levels. Which is fine, they’re two different specs.

But I think the problem is that Frost vs. Fire in this specific situation feels like Frost vs. Literally any other DPS spec in the entire game in almost every high skill situation in WoW. Frost is viable, it’s just not fun or easy compared to other specs. When you play Frost perfectly, you feel like you should be crushing every other class in DPS with the effort you put forth, but you’re not even close to a handful of easier to play specs.

That being said, it is extremely difficult to balance Mage for both PvE and PvP. From an outsider’s view… Mage is very powerful in both PvE and PvP, but when you actually play the class… It feels weaker than the effort you put in (with the exception of Fire Mage vs. targets with less than 30% HP). Granted, in PvP it’s not hard to Polymorph someone while teamed with someone whose CC is of a different type (like Rogue), but at that point it doesn’t feel like a pure DPS class, it feels like a utility class.

The problem is that the devs like the playstyle of Mage right now. They think it’s fine, they think it only needs minor tweaks because the best of the best Mages in the world have it in a good place for both PvP and PvE. When in actuality, Mages need a huge rework to make the class easier to play in PvE while not making it completely broken in PvP.

People don’t want to hear about feelycraft though, they just look at the on-paper numbers and analytics and that’s a shame. The feeling you get while playing a class should matter more. And I remember exactly when that feeling changed - when Ice Floes was taken away from all specs and put on the same tier as Shimmer for Frost Mages. And maybe that’s the only change we need reverted to fix the entire class?

Considering Warlocks ALWAYS has at least 1 spec that is #1 or in the top 2 tells us otherwise. Of course you are rogue though and it is funny you post here with all 3 rogue spots dominating hard in mythic (check warcraftlogs) and #2 in Heroic. Look at where mage is in Heroic mode. Dead last for Arcane and frost and fire not too much higher.

Frost and fire are about average at 75th and 90th percentile across all bosses on heroic. Quite a bit away from the dead last arcane mage.

Arcane is doing quite well with single target bosses (best between all mages specs) but become last overall due to other fights being unfavorable with heavy cleave/aoe.

Nowadays, most mages on the higher end are running both arcane and frost/fire and change specs depending on fight. Let’s hope the new raid will be better for our arcane mages.

Mixed feelings about this.

of all of the classes I’ve played since returning to Warcraft mage is by far the boringest regardless of spec. The rotations are shameful compared to other classes.

I still play my mage because the overall tool kit is solid and I really don’t even have to pay attention to get my job done.

On the other hand I would disagree with you about DPS. Frost mage can be a little low on single targets especially if the RNG gods are against you but other than that specific circumstance all mage specs are viable.
