Well, apperently Shadowlands has not "concluded" yet

It might be nostalgia, but I was a “wait and see” guy. I thought BFA was actually pretty good, and I was excited to see how everything played out. Making Sylvanas a sub to daddy Zovaal never even entered my mind for a moment. Thats not even comparable to Teldrassil for nelf fans. Thats above and beyond.

Hopefully the conclusion is that we all wake up to realize it was an Old Gods induced nightmare.

Kiraiser made a couple of great topics on the CC about story, you should read them. He lives in Russia though, so…

Why would you even think Shadowlands is concluded? It’s only week 2 of patch release?

Raid ends have always been expansion ends until now and some people aren’t paying attention to the fact that there’s an epilogue this time that will actually end it.

So it is just Cdev refusing to engage? Awesome.

Well except Wrath due to Ruby Sanctum (although that IS a raid so it can count in a sense) and Legion with the discovery of azerite and using the artifacts to remove the corruption from Sargeras’ sword. Both of which happens after their respective final main raid and serve as bridges to the next expansion. That being Cata and BFA respectively.

I consider those more to be prologues.

Even the removal of the corruption from Sargeras’s sword?

Yes because Sargeras’ sword is a BFA plot point not a Legion one.

I don’t have much faith the remaining half patch and ZM quests are going to bother truly reconciling any of the bipolar writing that has occurred since BFA, especially re: Sylvanas and Tyrande.

Seems more likely that “concluding the Shadowlands” is just going to be making the Arbiter, Sylvanas something, something renewal go find Nathanos, and Baine yelling “For the Arbiter!” so loud in Thrall’s face that he gets spooked and hides behind Draka’s legs.

Except it is a legion plot point since the stabbing happened during legion. We use the artifacts that we got from legion to remove the corruption within it. It happened during legion’s patch cycle. Not BFA’s. patch 7.3.5 does not equal 8.0.1

We’re tired.

Steve, stop. Please

The Sword in the Silithus can’t be a BfA plot point if it’s never really a thing in BfA. We don’t interact with it at all. All the wounds we deal with are on some islands, not Silithus.

We just go there to hang in Azeroth’s heart-room.

All the knights in Old England tried and tried to pull out the Sword in the Silithus, but no matter how brave or strong or important they were they all failed until Sir Ector’s foster son Wart had a go at it…

I know FFXIV gets a lot of hate here but if you’ve played the latest expansion Endwalker just for the story, you know where I am going with this…

MMORPGs don’t need cliff hangers and even patches to tell a compelling expansion story. Endwalker story is AMAZING just playing through the zones. You don’t need to wait for patches and patches over the course of years to understand what happens. Even Shadowbringers was amazing just leveling through the new zones and taking in the EXPANSION STORY.

Compared to Endwalker, Shadowlands is actual trash tier storytelling. Please fire Danuser or transfer him to some department far from WoW where he can’t influence any story decisions. He should trademark “just wait and see” because of how much he’s used it to defend his awful writing. It’s obvious this man can’t write a compelling story or handle criticism of any sort.
