Well, apperently Shadowlands has not "concluded" yet

Didn’t seem like Tyrande was made aware of the contract changes… =/

Seems like she was forced into by Elune the Trickster.

Despicable Titan if you ask me! :octopus:

Man, why do they do this? He knows full and well the “conclusion” won’t resolve anything, mitigate the parade of disasters that BfA-SL has been, or impress anyone. “Oh gee guys, I know we say this a lot, but if you wait just one more week for the Sylvanas cinematic then I’ll keep sniffing my own farts in the writer’s room and being awestruck at how amazing it smells.

Does he though?

Its pretty hysterical to think that the Zovaal ending could have had the Death Panethon contributing to stopping Zovaal, Elune, Celestials, First Ones, Titan Pantheon, or Azeroth herself.

They had 10 good candidates to make this a somewhat passable ending that would feel a bit satisfying, but fell completely short.

If he truly believes the 23 second cinematic of showing Slyvanas jump into the Maw is going to be the “real conclusion” of the Shadowlands… then this franchise is doomed.

Don’t forget the chapters we haven’t done yet include things like revealing why the Arbiter broke, shows the Nathrezim still working on their plans, and gives us a new Arbiter. As far as the general population is concerned that’s stuff they don’t know is getting dealt with on top of dealing with Sylvanas.

Heck, for all we know Sylvanas jumps into the Maw and that’s what allows the Void Lords to open a portal over Azeroth and that leads into the next expansion.

Marketing. Specifically the millenial in charge of monitoring social media. They (that’s their preferred pronoun) felt it was clear that Sylvanas had to go full villain and could not be shown as an anti-hero because social media overwhelmingly rejected that premise after Teldrassil. But, when she did go full villain and join the jailer, social media made it really clear that a LOT of people were still Sylvanas fans and didnt like that the good parts of Sylvanas were being swept away for this storyline, so they brought the good parts back out and gave her blue eyes, just so we could see how good she was now.

Between the lackluster Jailer cinematics and that nonsense involving freeing Anduin ,I doubt Blizz can do anything more to make this story any worse.

Then again they continue to prove me wrong.

We never say this!! Do not throw down that challange when you know they’re undefeated in the field of disappointment recently!!!

“challenge accepted”

People thought that in BfA too

I had an echo of a wisp of a glimmer of hope that someone who cared about the game’s story would end up on the Community Council and at least get a convo started about where the story is at, what went wrong, plans to not repeat those wrongs, etc.

Probably not what they wanna hear, so no story people.

Tyrande is Earthmother confirmed.

“You have always embodied the best of Azeroth, Tyrande”

Suck it tauren you can worship Tyrande now.

BS, she had already killed hundred Mawsworn and Horde and Nathanos by then. But killing one genocidal Banshee makes her evil somehow, and she crosses a line?
She literally granted her the power to hunt Sylvanas and then took it away right before.

Elune is either an extreme hypocrite or an extreme idiot.

Yeah I prefer the more indirect way they did it with Wrath ----> Cata. With Loken’s and Yogg’s dialogue but also bringing in those earthquakes in patch 3.3. Although they weren’t really that noticeable until patch 3.3.5 with Ruby Sanctum. Since WoD the ending sets up a cliffhanger. AU Gul’dan getting thrown through the Black Gate by Archimonde. Sargeras stabbing Azeroth as a last resort, which led to Azerite appearing. Weirdly, the ending for BFA that led to Shadowlands was the Saurfang death cinematic and not patch 8.3. All the more reason why BFA should’ve ended with Eternal Palace and that cinematic. Ny’alotha felt more of a “we need one more raid tier, quick, throw one together out of something that should be an expansion. Use N’zoth, no-one likes him. But everyone will love Zovaal, king of the _______”.

This is a misunderstanding of the point being made.

Elune isn’t stripping Tyrande’s power because Tyrande is trying to kill one more genocidal banshee. Elune is stripping Tyrande’s power because Tyrande is killing herself for the sake of killing Sylvanas. Elune preventing her most favored champion from killing herself isn’t hypocrisy, it’s saving Tyrande’s life from a power that we’ve known from day one has killed every single person who’s wielded it.

She knew the cost when she made the pact. More hilariously, if not for intervention, she would have died after Elune stopped her regardless. Turns out knee-jerk, half-assed pivots to placate incensed players is not good storytelling. Wild.

I mean in the fight vs Zovaal when he was draining Azeroth.

Where was Elune?

“You made Life your enemy… and that is a war you will never win?”

I don’t see no Life Titan helping…

That’s true, but that hardly feels stratifying enough to consider that as enough salvation for this horrible story.

If Denauser thinks Pelagos becoming Arbiter and Sylvanas jumping into the Maw a “successful” conclusion to the Epic Shadowlands Saga… then oh boy we’re in for a ride.

Now, if we see Tyrande about to forgive Sylvanas and an arrow flies past her head, striking Sylvanas…

… and we see Alleria standing there with a bow in hand.

“When the arrow finds its mark , the last fetter will fall away.”

“At the hour of her third death, she will usher in our coming .”

That would be a pleasant surprise. Even if Sylvanas wakes up and this is all a dream retcon’d to before BfA… even better.

But, if it’s just Sylvanas saying, "My bad, I’ll go jump into the maw and save the souls I condemn. :frowning: " – then that will be just as bad as the Zovaal cinematic.

(I spent the last year saving Souls from the Maw, thank you very much!)

Yeah it made no sense for Elune to give her the power to fly and catch sylvanas, and then take the power away after she caught her. Why even let her fly in the first place then? I don’t think there is a single character they didn’t throw under the bus to tell Sylvanas’s story this expansion, including Elune.

Anduin. Despite the apparent glee with which Sylvanas affected homicide and genocide, somehow in the service of freeing everyone from an unfair system (ALL PREDICATED SOLELY ON THE JAILER SAYING REALITY IS FLAWED AND HE WILL FIX IT WITH NO FURTHER EXPLANATION IN ALL CAPS), Anduin derailed her convictions by going “heyyy no that is wrong, baby girl.”

I’ve heard it said that it can be tricky to write a character more intelligent than you yourself are. Possibly that applies to morals as well.

Clearly Sylvanas’s judgement will be that she returns fully to life, convinces her sisters to rejoin Quel’thalas, and then joins the Cenarion circle to help rebuild a new city for the night elves as penance, which will be deemed good enough
