Welcome to BFA PvP

I agree, I was just pointing out how mythic gear is a huge factor as well as the synergy between unholy dk and holy paladin

Oh and corruptions

Iā€™m so ready for corruptions to be gone. Every expansion after Mists people have said that this is the worst PvP could possibly be and then every expansion we get proven wrong.

Pvp was optional in wow, and should stay like thatā€¦ balance pvp always consume a lot of dev resources and end in failure.

World pvp is the true pvpā€¦ not shameless arenas for cowards who hide or run in circles!

imagine taking 2s seriously

I think early in the week is better competition. Friday night is probably easy wins. If you know how to move, pvp isnt much different than a raid. Kill the enemy with 95 percent of the same spells.

my understanding of WoW PvP is that its ā€œskillā€ aspect was originally just a matter of acquiring gear, and stomping your less geared enemies. That was the premise for pretty much all mmorpg PvP.
It was fair in the sense that- you have just as much oppurtunity to get this gear as i do, you just dont go get it.
At some point the emphasis on gear and commitment shifted into min-maxing and skill.
I enjoy it both ways, i dont really think WoW PvP should be skill centric though.
Obviously it should be a factor, but not the main factor. Main factor of PvP in a MMORPG should always be gear if you ask me.

Youā€™d find more balance in a shooter even in CoD where you get spawn camped.

To be fair though, he probably takes on pretty well given he is a mythic raider.

Setting focus, targeting and interrupting would be things heā€™s already pretty good at. Iā€™d imagine with his and your skillset you could push even higher.

what do you think vanilla pvp was like? It was the same except there was no borrowed power. Just raiders roflstomping people. Watch any pvp video from 2004-2007 and youā€™ll notice a trend other than people using the same music.

So here is the oddityā€¦People screamed for gear to not matter as much in PvP and we got templatesā€¦People screamed for gear to matter in PvP and we got rid of templatesā€¦Peaple screamed for gear to not matter as much in PvP.

Just LOS the ilvl 4head

Also, like Ion said:
This is the silly season :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:  :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

No people screamed for balance and we have no idea who was screaming for no pvp gear at all

It did an amazing job and knee capping pvp

Yeah itā€™s always been a bit iffy. Probably the worst state itā€™s ever been right now though just thanks to the new systems.

Used to. Then Ion went to war against PvP and completely ruined everything that made it fun and interesting.

honestly itā€™s random bgā€™s that happen to be the most fun part of pvp. arena is a pillar humping borefest

Back in TBC I think it skewed a lot more heavily towards PvP.

Arenas were WAY more popular than raiding, and 5-mans were pretty unforgiving as well.

The random bgs had a lot of participation, and thanks to resilience casuals stood a chance as long as the raiders werenā€™t s-tier.

Edit: I think part of the reason we see so much drop off in pvp participation is simply due to how many chores we have at max level.

Emissary. Invasions. AP. Visions. M+10s or 15s

By the time you get done with just a couple of those youā€™ve used up a couple hours.

Speaking from only my own experiences, my participation in PvP and those that left the game that I used to PvP with, like my brother, did so because of things like removal of resilience, which, as the OP pointed out, made it so someone that only PvPs is at a disadvantage to people that only PvE. Then they removed PvPā€™s largest carrot on a stick: class sets. Then they removed blacklisting BGs and not only separated the large BGs from the smaller ones (Alliance just happened to be dominate in the large ones) to make smaller queues, they removed the bonus honor rotation, removed Strands, and havenā€™t introduced a new BG in two expansions. Then they got rid of PvP servers and essentially made all PvP instanced through War Mode. Oh, and thereā€™s absolutely no one in charge of PvP now.

Blizz is never getting those PvPers back. The lead dev blatantly attacked the sole reason they were playing.

A sort of mini game that was a lot more popular than the pve scene. Cannot wait to kill the same boss with the same people and do the same things for the 20th week in a row whew hew.

frankly i dont care game shouldint be balaneced around pvp its a pve game.
