For the record: the issue I am describing below has already been corrected, but I just wanted to report it in the hopes that it gets fixed for future players.
Via Chromie, I took my Level 48 Tauren Paladin into Shadowmoon Valley. After picking up several quests, I found that I had run into the Stay In Combat bug. I did my research, none of the usual fixes seemed to work, and, in the hopes that it would resolve itself, I just kept marching on. It wasn’t until I managed to complete the To Legion Hold quest, turning in the Box o’ Tricks in the process, that I managed to break out of the Combat bug. Either the quest itself, or having the Box o’ Tricks in my inventory, seemed to prevent me from dropping out of combat.
