I’m having this pretty badly today, anyone have a fix? Turning the settings down and then up again dont seem to work.
I’ve found that switching from DX12 to DX11 fixes this issue.
It doesn’t bother me but I’ve seen it too. Was curious what it was but I guess it really is just a graphic thing. I guess if I get annoyed with it I’ll try to fix it, lol. Good to know it’s not just me, though!
I have noticed this as well. I will try the DX11 change mentioned above and see what effect that has.
Having multiple graphic issues.
Similar to OP, I get a weird red glow on some ground clutter while running through EPL, it jumps from plant to plant, looks weird.
Also, another lighting issue, but if anyone is carry a movable light source, i can see a huge square of brighter areas surrounding them and following them around, looks very unnatural.
A third issue: When flying from Theramore to Winterspring, my character would occasionally gain a blur effect.
Blizzard listed SSAO as a problem with TBC in their post of issues that they are aware of but they also stated that they wont guarantee that they will ever fix it

Getting the same issue as well, sometimes the spotlight will move it further away other times it is center screen. I tried different video settings for lighting they are resulted in the same problem.
I’m relieved I’m not the ONLY one experiencing this! It’s random, it’s on BOTH of my computers, so I know it isn’t on my end. And it’s like someone is carrying a lantern about 10 yds in front of me to either the left of the right.
So… they aren’t going to fix it? Or even try? Seriously? It isn’t a game-breaker, but it’s darned annoying!

Same. And still happening. Perhaps dimmer now than before the hotfixes and server restart yesterday on 5/27. But still noticable at times.
Change it to DX11.
This was in beta too so it’s an issue known for almost 3 months.
An observation: Setting shadow quality to “Good” looks really odd, like one of the screenshots above where shading on “walls” is just gone and looks overbright. Lower (fair) and higher settings look better. Dx11 vs Dx12 made no difference for me.
Fixed mine by switching to DX11. Not sure why I was on DX12 lol.
