Weird lag + disconnects + loading screen stuck at 75%

Hi,

So this started happening recently (has been a week). It only happens after loading screens or during screens.

Sometimes, during any load screen, it just stops at ~75% and doesn’t move anymore. If i let it sit, it takes roughly 5 minutes to get a disconnected message.

Other times right after a load screen, i’ll mount up and move around, when i come to dismount, my character just starts flying as it dismounts me on my end but on the game end it does not. The game is lagged out or disconnected at this point. I can still read and type in chat, I can still use LFG but everything else is lagged out (can’t use spells or talk to NPCs)

Other times I log in after the load screen gets stuck at 75% and I get no characters on my login screen. If i try to change realm or use any other button than exit, I get a message saying “You’ve been disconnected”

This has never happened to me before. No other games of mine are acting weird, when these things happen my internet is working there are no problems.

Please let me know what I can do to fix this or if someone else has had a similar problem.

Thank you.

Same issue, what’s going on Blizzard?
Steam, Epic, they all connect. I’m able to stream Netflix and Hulu, everything else has a stable connection except for Blizzard games.
I’m using the same ISP I’ve been using for the past 2+ years.

They are still refusing to acknowledge the problem on their end.

I see that many players are having the same problem.

This happens at least 5-10 times a day.

Hey Mescaline,

It looks like you are playing from the Middle East and there can be a lot of latency routing to the US servers. We can try to help pinpoint where this is happening but to clarify, there isn’t a problem with the servers at the moment. Most players are able to stay connected and load into the game. To help you identify the problem, we need to collect a WinMTR test:

  1. Download WinMTR
  2. Unzip the file to your desktop
  3. Run the WinMTR as Admin
  4. Type 24.105.62.129 in “host”.
  5. Click “Start” and open the game. Let the MTR test run for at least 10 minutes to capture this issue occurring.
  6. Click “Copy text to clipboard”
  7. Type two sets of four tildes and then paste the contents of the WinMTR test between: ~~~~ Paste WinMTR Test Results Here ~~~~

Note: If it’s not letting you post, break links by adding a space before .com/.net, so you can post them. You can also upload the MTR contents through Pastebin and post the link (ex: Pastebin (dot) com/123456).

Here are the results:

Same issue here 5 days now mostly in bg’s over it.

Mescaline,

Your issues seem to start around your router. You’re getting spikes of almost 3000 ms between your PC and router, and they’re happening often enough to drive your average latency up to 30 ms before you even hit your router. That’s about 30x higher than I’d expect. (Your average should be less than 1 ms in most houses, it’s a very short distance to travel.) There’s also signs of packet loss after that point, so I wager the problem is either your connection to the router, or the router itself.

I’d power cycle your connection, swap to ethernet if you’re on wifi, and update your network drivers and operating system. If none of that works, re run the test. If it’s still this bad, you’ll probably need to swap the router out for a new one with your ISP. If even that fails, let’s snag a new winMTR.

Hey, i recently also have this issue.
I found a fix and a roundabout for this.
First let’s try to fix it.

Do a network reset
If you’re using Windwos 10, open the Network & Internet settings, on Status scroll down a bit and you’ll see “Network Reset”
Reset your network and restart your PC.

Does that fix it?

If not, open the Network & Internet setting again.
On Status again open up Network Adapter options.
Now right click on your Ethernet, select properties

Right on on top right, there’s configure… button, click it.
Go to advanced tab
Select “Energy-Efficient Ethernet” change this value to “Disabled”
Select “Wake on Magic Packet” change this value to “Disabled”
Now click Ok to close it.
Restart your PC for good measure.

Now check if that fix it.

Now for the roundabout way.
I connect to my wifi via my Android Phone, and tether that phone to my PC. This is what i do before i find the fix i mentioned.
