Weird framerate drops issues?

Okay… since this patch has come out for DF I’ve been have problems with my WoW.

  1. I’ll load up my computer, open WoW, immediately my framerate is unplayable once my character loads in… It get so bad my whole PC starts to lag, only way I get this phenomenon to stop is by forcing my PC shut down by power button. Once I load my PC back up everything is fine…I open different games, go on YouTube and I’m not having any issues… But if open WoW again and randomly get those framerate problem my whole system starts to freeze. I also told friend of mine about these problem I’ve been having they also describe similar situation with WoW and fixing by force restarting their PC.
  2. While leveling I notice every time I dinged or another player in my party dinged the flash of light would make my screen/game freeze for like a solid second. I leveled from 46 to 60 and that freezing happened every single time I leveled.
  3. While on my dragon riding mount If I were to use an ability to attack something while on the mount my game will freeze or stutter for a second. But If I use any other mount whether it be ground or flying mount and repeat that attacking process I don’t get that freeze or stutter.
  4. Lastly while waiting for my 30+ min solo shuffle ques I’ll fly around fighting mobs or collecting materials I’ll have no issue with game. Once I join solo shuffle and I’m in the arena my framerate drops dramatically. Sometimes that issue disappears after I’m out of arena and back In the world. Other times that issue stays and constantly getting framerate drops have to restart the game.

I’m just curious Is anyone else having issues with their game? Anything similar? I simply don’t know what to do at this point… I’ve updated my graphics card… I’ve even rolled the update back. I’ve tested with other games that more graphic heavy than WoW like Elden Ring and no issues. My WoW setting in game aren’t set to anything crazy and before this patch I was having no issues at all. I’ve disable addons still having these issues. I’ve also did a repair on WoW

Does your Hard Drive usage spike on Task Manager when this occurs, by chance? Or SSD, if relevant.

Do you have a solid state drive??

You could also have too many addons causing input lag.

Too many addons will absolutely tank your memory.

I’ve been looking at Task Manger and There Isn’t any noticeable spikes. And again I wasn’t having these issues before patch. I guess It’s possible my PC started dying In a week, but I don’t know. Don’t have any issue with other game where my graphics are set higher. Which makes me believe it’s an addon, but with addon disabled I still encounter these problems. Also during my whole time leveling I wasn’t having any issue during combat or during dungeons with other players using abilities. Only during the flash of light of leveling or someone leveling my game would freeze for a second.

Yes, I have solid state drive.
I currently only have 13 addons… which I feel Is on low end…actually going to go through those 13 to see If can do without some, but even then with no addon enabled I’m still having these weird anomalies.

I’ve had the jumping and freezing issues last couple days but, for me it only seems to be in retail Chromie Wrath zones.

And before anyone says addons, they’re all gone since that started happening after last weeks maintence and my pc is just fine.

Do you have your video overclocked?
the only reason I ask is I recently OC’ed mine…and it was working just fine for a while. Then a Tuesday maintenance hit and suddenly i was getting these crazy lock ups that yeah…lasted for a second or three.

I tried everything then finally ditched the OCing and it hasnt had any freezing since.

I recently started getting input lag. If I pop an ability it can take up to 2 seconds to register. Same when I’m dragon riding. Doesn’t seem like lag though. idk.

No, I’ve never OC my GPU haha I don’t know where the setting is TBH. Glad hear you figured out your issue though

layer upon layer upon layer…

yeah, it was freezing for a couple seconds here and there. The OCing caused some instability problem that only WoW was having. Everything else was working just fine.
Turned the OC back on just to see if that was it, and yeah, it started up the same day again.

Ya. We had the same thing happen on Moonguard. Where everyone was active in Goldshire and suddenly. Around 10:15 pm, last Wednesday. Had a huge drop in FPS. Everybody had seen that lag do it around 2 times.

Probably not, if it’s not the drive. Storage is something that comes up a lot for “strange” issues people have. Data corruption and various other drive issues can cause some seriously bizarre symptoms.

Nothing’s getting hot, no fans are kicking up, etc., right?
