Hey,
Hope you can help me, ever since BoD patch released i get this weird issue (Only in M+ or Raid) where ill randomly disconnect from the game, chat still works and I can talk as normal. Players will run on the spot, I cant use any abilities and I need to Alt+F4 the game and reload to get it back up and running.
I have attached a WinMTR

I had to delete the .net on the MTR report as I cant post weblinks on the forum.
Ive already deleted all of WoW, redownloaded and installed. Removed all addons and installed again. Still having the issue.
Ive then Updated Motherboard BIOS, LAN and other motherboard drivers.
Still having the same issue.
Hi Aecis
Seems to be a bit of a spike on the router though not bad. The WinMTR for the most part looks normal. Is this a wireless connection - if so you might test with a Ethernet cable.
If this only occurs in a M+ or raids I would suspect an addon. What you might try is renaming the WTF, Interface and Cache folders to .old. (WTF.old - etc) Then head into a LFR and see if you disconnect. Remove the .old afterwards to return things to normal.
Cheers Tratt, I have actually done a full format of my computer and still got the same issue, I have had a friend who plays wow at his place no problems come with his computer to my house and play wow, both having the same issue. So its something router or outside my house that I cant control. Oddly enough using a VPN fixes the problem also.
Also ive tried ethernet and wireless connections, also updated my Router firmware today
Edited: We’re not 100% sure what’s going on with just the information in this test. Is this edited? Was it run during a period when you disconnected?
Can you please run the WinMTR test for a maximum of 10-15 minutes and ensure that you catch a disconnect during the test? Just stop/start it between boss pulls in a mythic plus or something and once you DC, run it for 5 more minutes then export. If we don’t actively see the disconnect, we can’t identify the source of the issue. If you did edit the test, let’s make sure the test comes through unedited.
Thanks Zuvykree,
The first MTR was unedited, I only deleted the .net out of one of the IP’s as I couldn’t post HTML links in the forum, I guess it was the plain text option i used? But that MTR from Perth to Sydney datacenter. I ran this one to US Central:

I ran this for maybe 45 minutes? Also I made a YouTube Video where I captured the moment the issue occured: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b9Tj2X6bqws happens around 58 seconds into the video.
The issue is not isolated to being in fights but can happen anytime once zoned into an instance (raid/bg or mythic+ etc)
This issue actually happened for me sometimes in patch 8.0, stopped after some initial patches and now has reappeared in 8.1. Not sure if this is coincidence but trying my best to work it out.
Thanks for your feedback
Howdy!
Players running in the same spot and not being able to utilize abilities smoothly are signs of packet loss. Meaning somewhere between the client and our servers data is being dropped. This required one end to ask the other to resend data if it recovers you will go back to normal if not you will disconnect.
The lasted WinMTR shows a lot more data and makes it clear packet loss is occurring starting at hop 2 and 3, all the way down. I would recommend showing your Internet Service Provider the latest WinMTR. Report you are seeing packet loss in games and if they can check these nodes out. They may need to send someone out to check from the house to the first ISP node as well.
Thank you.
