I’m on my 120 fire mage, and after my greater pyro hits the target there is a .5 second delay from the time of impact to when the damage shows on the health bar of the player or mob.
My cast rotation doesn’t seem hindered. My MS is at 45. My FPS is at 100 stable.
Its either the delay in the server registering the damage or a graphic bug.
I have 3 other 120s and I haven’t noticed this on any melee toon. However, its very apparently on damage from large spells. The visual impact of the spell hitting verses the damage showing in the health bar of the mob or player.
I think its just server lag but it is not showing in latency. Anyone else notice this?
Yep 100%.
Been like this since Gpyro launch. It has something to do with the uniquely slow travel-speed of gpyro (where people can even outrun it for a while).
Unless they’re completely still, I’ve noticed it definitely glitches out server-side on registering the damage. It also calculates different than other spells since it’s both a % modifier and a PvE output spell that wasn’t made for PvE.
But yes, it’s a thing, and it’s annoying.
yep, I got on my other casters. You are right, this delay is specifically related to gpyro. Not sure why blizzard hasn’t fixed it. Its an odd bug. If the dmg registered at same time of impact animation it would be easier to choose the follow up spell. I’ve wasted an instant pyro proc with gpyro dmg not registering soon enough.
Yep just the travel time. If you hurl a Pyro at someone at 40 yards but then they instantly blink toward you, the animation of the Pyro will hit turn, but the damage is dealt as though the player hadnt moved. I think this might actually be on purpose and not necessarily a bug. But I love it because people get confused on playing around it. Like throwing up spell reflect or ams at the wrong time or healers not even realizing that they are about to get chunked. And it also allows you to cast Pyro and then throw out all your instant burst and meteor and Pyro will hit at same time
