So, every week for the past few (3-4) has given me the same few items I already have from raid, and then for my 252s every week its been cloak, cloak, cloak. Thats my legendary slot. The last few alts I made (ret / mage) last season, didnt use a single vault item, for the entire season before winding up 226+, how in the world is this a justification for removing bonus rolls?
The intrinsic layers of RNG baked into personal loot options, limited drops, nonsensical item level restrictions, staggered and limited use of Justice points, and just the pure randomness of Mythic+ loot drops, makes gearing an absolute nightmare. The content eventually becomes stale regardless, but much faster when all routes to progression rely entirely on luck as opposed to meaningful work.
Im prolly benching out for the season, due to sheer boredom, and lack of progression, after getting KSM / being on the verge of AoTC (frankly I dont have the time for mythic raid prog these days) it feels pointless, after spending hours of effort for 0 reward multiple weeks in a row. Lack of important domination items prevent reasonable parsing, and crucial to spec items like Poxblade, or Veinripper being pushed behind RNG walls, is frankly one of the least appealing facets of the game.
Gearing (especially pvp gearing) needs some significant reworks, if you want endgame content to remain competitive, I mean, RTWF was decided off of an average ilvl discrepancy of +10 between first and 2nd place, thats disgusting.

It sucks I know. I’ve had similar experiences on many toons. Repeated pieces, item slots I’ve already filled, etc. Would be nice to receive a token to purchase what we need rather than a random roll.

Personally, I like having 3 pieces of random gear to choose from at the end of the week. It’s 3 extra chances. Bonus rolls rarely gave me anything when they were a thing.

i feel better since i quit playing and opening vault all i seen in discord was the same thing that just happened to you. they could get rid of the vault and actually give people loot in the content they are doing and that one chest never repeated so many times i got more loot from one chest than the vault has equaled up to.

I agree. They should let us target certain items rather than this RNG mess. It would help all from the CE to those that just want their friggin TMOG.

Personally, I have renamed “The Great Vault” to “The Greatly Disappointing Vault” because that is usually how it makes me feel with useless upgrades.
I am fine with some RNG with loot (i.e. boss drops), but not having a deterministic bad luck protection system after 15+ years of development is just bonkers. All it does is make players feel like they are wasting their time when they can’t get the one item they need or they keep getting the same items over and over again.
Like in season 1 I basically stopped playing after we got AOTC because I had issues getting weapons above ilvl 200. This is literally the most important item for a melee class and not being able to get something decently high in those slots was just frustrating. Like, I’m willing to put in the work and kill raid bosses and run some M+, but after a certain point it just feels like I am wasting my time.
This season I have had much better luck with drops. However, overall I find the game less fun in general due to the slowness of getting new content out and making changes. Like the changes in 9.1.5 should have come out like 6 months ago. Tor’ghast is fun, but is also basically pointless for me at this point as I already have my r6 leggo and don’t intend on making anymore.

I think it’s certainly a step up from the weekly chest. I’ve done raid and got two mythic chests worth of stuff on two characters… needless to say I’m nervous for today.
I think given the nature of 9.1 the weekly vault is a bit annoying at the moment, there’s a fair likelihood that you’re going to get something that conflicts with a domination socket. Given for an optimised character that’s 5 slots, with one slot for your legendary that you aren’t replacing - that’s a lot of potential disappointment.

I was in a top 25 world guild for mythic and left over legendary drops, I am having flashbacks over dom sockets wtf… get with it
We have so many currencies. Just give us a vendor so we can target our gear. Just like we used to do with badges.

Like, the systems in this game create such a sense of defeat, that even when I had a good PF key, which I need for Pox Blade I felt like it would be a waste of 20 min of my life, and said screw it, and just didnt even bother doing mythics last week. Blizzards also so absurdly anti fun, you cant even make a twink or do lowbie arenas with anything interesting even more like set bonuses, and most of those are even disabled in timewalking, so thats become a drag as well…

Pick a piece of gear to target run one dungeon multiple times to unlock on boxes on that increases your chases. Works almost every time for me.
I got a duplicate shield, right down to the item, I don’t see the problem… oh no wait you’re right the vault is TRASH.
Yeah i did this for the scale trinket in Dos. it took 5 weeks and it finally dropped at the end of the Dungeon… on like a 3
I did whatever was available to do, I don’t have hours to wait for a +15 Dos to be available. The Vault drops are still RNG at 15+'s which is one reason the Vault is trash. I got a 246 side upgrade this week, my 252’s this week was a trash trinket and my legendary slot (262). i guess that’s better than being completely skunked 5 weeks in a row.
Still no 252 weapon since 9.1… nice system

To be honest im hunting for last few bits of mog so really wanted the kt sword. Made me swap to tank spec for vault and i got 3 tabk trinks RIP
It took me all of 9.0 to get scale never did drop in dungeon but my pally sure got iqd over and over and over which my many shams never got til some nice pug player gave me it see all pugs ain’t toxic.
They should do what FFXIV does - if you don’t get loot from a boss that week, you get a “token” item and you can trade in like 6 or 7 tokens for the item you were aiming for. That’s 6-7 weeks. It’s perfectly fair this way.
