Weekly reminder that Party Sync is broken

Hello, just another reminder that a fix would be nice, but it is never expected.

120’s can queue in pre-mades with party sync and grief (there really is no other word for it) low level battlegrounds.

I just saw in the 30-40 bracket a 120 Mage kill my entire group with a proc of TD3.
It was hilarious, but the 15 mins of GY camping that followed wasn’t.

Scaling doesn’t work. At all.

Thanks, back to a BG again.

That sounds like a problem with Corruption not scaling properly. It’s not that scaling doesn’t work at all, its that Corruptions aren’t scaling properly.

Corruptions are meant to be disabled.

It’s more than that. You can’t have 120’s in a 30-40 bracket. Full abilities, talents, azerite traits, essences, and corruptions. No amount of tuning will scale all that fairly. And it currently doesn’t. At all.

Bethesda: it’s an intended featur- oh not our game.

If they’re supposed to be disabled in BGs … then its not a scaling issue, its the BGs not correctly disabling them. Ergo, not a scaling issue.

((rest directed at kalli))

Scaling will never be perfect. THAT is impossible. But your statement is also hyperbole.

Scaling not working at all would mean Kalli would use party sync, enter a level 30 BG and still have the stats of a level 111 toon.

That’s NOT what is happening.

You’re just not happy with how the stats are scaling.

If there are abilities that are not scaling at all, then its specific abilities that have issues, not the scaling system.

Sigh…

I never asked for that. I said they need to be fixed. Evidently they do.

It isn’t.
The entire group died to a single player proccing TD3. Not only corruption shouldnt be popping up. But the damage shouldn’t be near that fatal. Scaling is off there.

Because the system isn’t working properly… hence, scaling is off.

Whatever, clearly there are people that LOVE to say that there isn’t a problem where there clearly is one. And a big one at that.

I assume it’s been bug reported.

Hopefully a fix will be found soon!

“its not working at all” is indeed different from “the scaling needs tuning.”

Also, if it was truly as broken as you said, there’d be massive amounts of complaint on the forums. Regularly.

Pedantry is not needed here. There are battleground issues that have obvious fixes, that won’t hurt people who use Party Sync as it was intended. The OP called attention to them. Simple as.

Everything is disabled in level sync bgs. At least for me they are. The people with their essences, traits and corruptions got super lucky that Beta for Azeroth bugged in favor of them.

Honestly… not sure who thought Party Sync + PvP was a good idea… Party Sync should have just been for PvE only… because as has been mentioned before, no amount of scaling will ever balance the difference in access to skills and talents… corruptions, Azerite traits, and even legion legendaries all add tons of power on their own even after scaling is done… all of these are supposed to be disabled… but if what the OP is saying is correct, then it’s not disabling everything properly… no matter how you slice it, someone who is level synced will always be stronger than someone who is not when it comes to PvP…

Even without essences, corruptions, Azerite, or legendaries… talents and skill access alone are huge…

ahahahahaha

they didn’t disable corruption in lower level bgs?? this was seriously a developer oversight when implementing party sync?? no one at blizz saw TD3s ripping through people or demon hunters being totally broken?

the game designers aren’t even trying anymore with bfa

See, that is what I thought as well which is what makes this very confusing for me.

From my understanding, anything you are not suppose to have at that low level is suppose to be disabled, things like Essences, Abilities, etc.

I was under the impression Corruption should be disabled in low level party sync situations. However now I am wondering if I misunderstood or not.

Corruption is/was already absurdly strong at max level in pvp let alone in a party sync situation… I would very much love to know what its suppose to be.

This isn’t how any of this works.
All gear is disabled other than heirlooms. Including trinkets, azerite armor, the neck and essences and of course corruption.

I do level 19 bgs on my dk all the time and am easily the weakest player in there.

If you are experiencing otherwise provide a combat log of the bg!

I have no idea how party sync and low level BGs work at all because I haven’t done any of them, but it seems pretty like the design should be pretty simple: You only have access to stuff you would at the level you’re synced to. There is no defense for why anyone being sync’d down should be able to have access to any expansion power system perks when playing against people who have no access to it. That’d be gamebreakingly stupid design for them.

I would be more in favor of party sync for PVP if higher level players saw their whole suite of abilities (talents, stats and abilities) locked out the way it is for characters in that bracket. Yes, I understand that this would potentially cripple hero classes since they don’t actually have level 10-19 abilties, but the opposite means that they have a ridiculous advantage in terms of options.

And that fundamentally ruins the expierience for me; I like that when I’m playing a 20 bracket I don’t have to keep track of a million options and powers that everyone has that lead to absurd proc strings or multiple cc breaks and that everyone’s kit is simpler for how it plays out.

They are disabled, this guy is just fishing
