for context I haven’t seriously pvped since before rated BGs existed, but I’ve always earned enough honor through casual BGs to level some characters and get basic pvp gear, it feels like right after the weekly reset all random BGs are just a bloodbath for anyone not already completely decked out in full gladiator, spending tons of time just respawning, and getting nuked by geared players, so much fun, thank God its only once a week due to the spark, at least that’s my logic, otherwise I cannot figure out why such highly geared players are hanging out in the randoms and specifically after weekly reset
Sure ya can. They have nothing else going for them.
Everyone can get high gear now, vendor conquest automatically scales to 450 for everyone
Crafted gear, world pvp gear, honor gear are all easily accessible as well which makes gearing a really fast process compared to shadowlands, so you’re not seeing “high rated arena players griefing noobs”, you’re just seeing regular players who have been capping their 550 conquest every week and gearing through the available options
Also what’s the point of getting full conquest gear if you’re not going to pvp with it? Arenas aren’t for everyone and everyones allowed to find battlegrounds fun regardless of their ilvl
The discrepancies right now between 437-440 ilvl players and 448 ilvl players mostly comes down to skill and tier set rather than raw ilvl. The game is fast and if you don’t trade a cooldown properly then you’re going to die, simple as. Some specs are also tuned more than others atm too and fighting against 6+ of the op specs is naturally going to feel bad regardless of if they’re 437 or 445 ilvl
Thankfully next week catalyst opens up which will make tier sets much more available to everyone who does bgs
What do you suggest someone who capped their 550 conquest do once they cap? Logout and wait until next reset?
Pvp isnt about the gearing progression, the game starts when you’re geared and have the stats you want
You can get sparks from world quests, disturbed dirt, etc. PvP is not necessary to complete the quest.
Sometimes I want to help people who are getting attacked by groups but if it happens in the FFA PvP area then the game won’t let me heal anyone without first grouping with them, which I don’t usually want to do
You assume this because people enjoy doing BGs? Especially when everyone who has been playing since season start is a “highly geared player” at this point? You know most people who do unrated PvP as their main content are closing in on finishing their gear in the next few weeks too, right?
I am not sure how you think that many hours of playing a video game doesn’t make it a substantial part of your life, I pretty much am not paying more than maybe an hour or two a week if that. Also the discrepancy between IL and tuning is not what I am talking about, pvp hasn’t changed that much that I don’t know what a cd is lets be real. As for what a fully geared player does, I dunno arena? If you’re geared and your not doing arena or sitting outside a capital city fine tuning your skills, then you are pretty much ganking people, be it in random bgs or in world pvp that’s still what it is that hasn’t changed.
Random BGs are for everyone, not just people who don’t have gear. If you want fairness then you need to play a rated game mode
So people that mainly do unrated PvP as their primary content are supposed to stop doing it less than halfway through the season when they get full gear? Because you know, unrated PvP gives BiS gear in this expansion.
Sounds really dumb. Personally I think the issue here is you playing 1hr a week and expecting to be competitive in anything other than doing world quests or something.
Yeah I feel the same way about your response too.
