Ok, i know plenty of you are going to say rng and trumpet nothings ever wrong with Blizzard, but this is starting to get ridiculous.
7 weeks now, in a row. My warlock here has gotten gloves in his weekly chest. Every single chest. Gloves.
Ring, boots, pants, belt, wrist, gloves, cloak, trinket, weapon, offhand, those are all the slots that CAN drop. Assuming even chances there is a 1/10 chance i will get gloves out of all the available slots in a given week. Which means a 1 in a million, chance it would happen 7 times running. Literally.
Looking thru all the gear that CAN drop for my spec, “ignoring Azerite and mounts,” there are 77 total pieces of gear of which 7 are gloves, so that’s a 1/11 chance which makes the odds even lower.
Something is broken with the weekly chest.

Oh I hear you on this one. I get the same item type 2-4 weeks in a row, almost always a downgrade on the main, then I log over to alts and get 425’s or perfect rings/trinkets the mage drools over that end up scrapped for whatever.
I once had the exact same item to a tee drop from consecutive chests in Legion. The odds were almost astronomical.
Last 8 weeks for me… Bracers, Gloves, Gloves, Legs (lolwut!), Bracers, Bracers, Gloves, and this week back to Bracers again. This RNG system is straight garbage.
And if there are 5 million players, there’s 4 more people just like you. So consider this a special club.

If it is true rng, wonder why weapons never drop even 2 times in a row especially for duel wielders?
This week, weapon.
Last week, boots.
Previous week, trinket.
Previous week, legs.
Previous week, wrists.
Granted I’ve only been doing M+ for little over a month so I guess I haven’t run out of things to upgrade. My hope is to stop doing them before I start having this weekly nightmare you all have.
If what you’re saying was common, you might have a point. But most people do in fact get different slots dropping, even if it’s not necessarily pieces they want.

Get some ten sided dice and roll them over and over. You will find that it’ll land on the same number quite often.
Does it suck? Absolutely. Is it broken? No.
I once spent an entire night playing Warhammer FRP and kept rolling 1 over and over and over again on one of my D10. I wanted to throw things.

Follow your own advice. Get some 10 sided dice and roll them 7 times.
If you get the same number 7 times, get new dice.

It’s very possible to get the same roll over and over again with so few numbers to roll.

Indeed, but if you get a 1 in a million result, then the most logical explanation is your dice aren’t balanced properly.

I would think the most logical explanation for a 1 in a million roll is “wow, I just got a 1 in a million roll”.
Wouldn’t say it’s bugged but you’re super unlucky like me. My monk has 5 pairs of pants pulled from the box that all have the exact same stats and 4 pairs of boots that are the same with one of those boots coming from this week. Maybe some day.
Even if those were both in a row, “5 in a row and then 4 in a row,” it would still be 1000 times more likely to happen than my 7 in a row streak.
