WEEK 2: SoD Population STILL Plummeting

Latest Ironforge population metrics are out!

Result? Population REMAINS cratered.

Pugs can’t find healers(wouldn’t it be nice if a loot system rewarded them, even if they didnt get any loot…?)

Pvp event is terrible, even after hotfixes. The concept of a pvp fight lasting more than 2 seconds is a forgotten whisper.

There’s no incentive to level alts… the slog to level once has burned us out.

Are the people running for the hills?

Hey, sorry you feel this way. I think you should consider that MMORPG launches always go this way particularly in recent years. There is a big surge of interest initially, people get their fill and move on to other games, not everyone will play every phase and that’s ok particularly with the catchup mechanisms in place.

Apparently this guy thinks facts (population is plummeting) are feelings. Huh?

You’re clearly upset by the current state of the game. I am just saying it’s expected for MMORPG launches and it really doesn’t matter to anyone’s enjoyment going forward.

I don’t typically use that site often, is there any way to view a time period of longer than a week? Like say SoD population measured since the servers came up?

I don’t disbelieve your claims, but curious to see more data than just this week’s current population.

So… if there’s no one here… who are you talking to?

I dont disagree the pop has prob gone down… however you gotta also understand Ironforge.pro gets its data from raids logged to warcraft logs… this does not account for people who havent hit 40 yet or people who did hit 40 and started on another alt instead of jumping right to raiding.

This phase is having drop off a lot faster than p1. We are struggling to find people to play healers. Almost everyone who previously healed has switched to specs like shadow, boomie or enh. The hybrid dps specs are just more interesting and fun to play than the heal specs so until that changes I think the pop will keep falling with lack of groups.

But the forum ppl said if gdkp was banned they would still pug?

Lol this happens in any game, it’s just that SoD isn’t that new anymore, lots of people have “tried it” and just left.

This happens in retail for every new expansion.

It happened in Classic as well, population fell massively after the first few months.

This is normal for any game, because people try it and then go back to their preferred games, or move on to other new things like PalWorld and other offerings, Last Epoch, Enshrouded, etc there’s just a load of games rn.

WoW is just mega-old. You can throw in some new features but at the end of the day, it’s still a very archaic game and demands a lot of your time.

Always happens when one-shot metas emerge. In every game, always.

Healers stop playing because it is unbearable

yes, gdkp ban removed 50% of players, the fact there is no competitive pvp removed 30%, and all that remains are the 20% wannabes, rejects, and exiles from 2019 classic fresh.

they are delusional, addicted, and hopelessly in love with getting more loot.

You’re clearly coping and seething that the population is plummeting :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

The game is dying because healers are having fun blasting things… you might want to check your math… and maybe try healing?

Very true

Actually they are not. The latest week on the graph is only from 02/07-02/12.

week 2 are effectively flat. More people not logging until they get it on farm, alt raids haven’t started yet
