Or is 90 per week the new normal? It’s bad enough we are limited to weekly quests for development, but now we can’t even collect the rewards from all of the weekly quests without hitting a ceiling.
Yes 90 per week increase, or 6 upgrades per.
If everyone is vocal enough, we may be able to get rid of the cap on welp crests… there is no need to cap them

So next week we can get 180 crests, and the third week 270? Or are you just referring to a cumulative total?

We were told this way at the beginning of the 10.2 PTR. Devs felt 10 upgrades per week was too much, so they intentionally lowered it to 6 upgrades per week in 10.2. I think they gave some comment about loot being easier to acquire to offset this, or the catalyst opening sooner… Not sure players are as receptive as they’d hoped.

We get the catalyst day 1 of raid, but it now gives a charge every 2 weeks instead of waiting for like 6 weeks then one charge per week. Meaning we get a charge on the upcoming weekly reset then the next charge we get is two weeks later.
I’m not sure what you mean, but some of the crests you receive from quests do not count towards the cap.
Here are the crest counts for a character where I did not spend any crests. I did all the quest lines, dailies, and a fair amount of superbloom and seed farming.

Pretty much everybody saw it was too much. That’s why there were all the “nobody is doing keys anymore” threads after a couple months of season 2.

If you do weeklies around all of df you will hit the cap long before you do them all.
We are reward capped since 2004. Raid lockouts exist for same reason.
I don’t think blizzard expect you to do every single thing on the map.

Last season, mythic raiders were fully geared from Crests within 2-3 weeks. So Blizzard is trying to avoid that happening again by slowing down Crest acquisition.
They changed catalyst, but they also said that gearing last patch was just too fast.
I agree it was. There’s also less emphasis on crafted this season, which should slow gearing down. We’ll see how it goes!

The lowering of the crest cap was mostly aimed at bringing the speed of gearing back down .
And now it’s going to be “nobody is doing keys anymore” after a couple of days into each week!
