While I don’t have any particular objection, I think that we all know that one of the many types of Reasons We Can’t Have Nice Things ™ would immediately show up and turn this into one of the worst things ever to blight the Internet.
Between this and the folks acting like IRL politicians, MG is a real double edged sword.
People just want me for my Big Love Rocket.
Especially the Pandaren ladies in Goldshire…they’re surprisingly eager for Orcs.
Yeah, you’d think people would try to do something separate from the real world. But it pretty much mirrors it.
I remember when people recreated using tear gas or something in the city to recreate what was happening irl in some places…but it was mana bombs or some other arcane powder or something?
And then that weird brainwashed Stormwind Law Project.
The sad part is I never really heard much of friends having personal accomplishments outside of the game. Like people didn’t seek real relationships, or work, or education, or another hobby. It would just be like oh I’m in a new rp relationship and my character is havin another kid. Or some new rp rank they gained. or just talking about new drama. And I’d suggest maybe stepping away since they would be so worked up about it, but they always went back like a toxic relationship.
I wonder if your spouse could take your house in a divorce. Especially if you have professions and they are just home keepers who use cooking.
I would say this is just a symptom of the last 7 years of plague and poverty, quite a few folks I know in WoW are losing their homes and generally don’t have enough money to continue paying a sub.
2018-2025 has been heck.
While we’re adding in all the classic MMO staples that WoW avoided throughout the years, sure, why not. Let’s add weddings.
I feel like I fell and hit my head and woke up in 2007 again. Marriage and Dance studio era.
Yes and know. I think a lot of rp players waste a lot of money on art as well though while complaining about finances. Some people in discord would talk about all these things they couldn’t do and WoW was it, but they spent thousands on art on a weekly if not daily basis. Or WoW tokens for the newest mogs or carries, rather than learning to play the game and trying something new.
I don’t see why the community is so scared to try and improve their actual real life. Because at the end of the day, we never even know how much longer WoW is around. And personal quality of life improvement is the real prize at the end of the day.
To be fair, I’d personally joke we don’t really know how much longer we’ll even be alive, but that might be a bit dark and or existential. A bit too Vanitas.
I mean hey, fair point.
Our life span is short, death always closer. After the fact our name, memories, the person we where will be forgotten like we never existed, this proceed only takes a few generations to unfold.
