Haven’t gotten any cloth drops yet today. Has something changed?
I hope not. I’ve gotten cloth today, although not much since i haven’t really fought many humanoids.
The way it is going with these baseline cloth drops, I’d prefer it if they just put it on a vendor. Would make life a lot easier.
My best guess is it’s because you have to put the knowledge points into the tree to increase the cloth drop chance. The WoWhead guide says that every tailor should be putting points into that first.
There are many different paths a Tailor can take when choosing Specializations in The War Within. Some may decide to focus on armor while others may decide to focus on Crafting Reagents. Whichever path you decide to work on first, we recommend that you allocate points to the Textile Treasures Tree.
The chance of cloth dropping isn’t that bad. I haven’t spec’d into that tree yet at all because I wanted to get duskweave and dawnweave unlocked, plus Quality Fabric to allow for 2* and 3* cloth to drop.
Was looking to post this today. Even with the passive that allows for more cloth drops and cloth not really dropping for anyone else. I am getting way more drops on my DK doing mining routes for 1hr then what I got on my S. Priest tailor leveling from 70-74. This is pretty damn ridiculous. They need to buff the drop rate.
RNG hits some harder then others.
Upgraded tailoring as soon as I had free roam in Dornogal, did the first three zones; campaign and side quests, one run through each delve, and any rare that was up.
By the time I got to The Weaver’s Lair I had 211 cloth.
More annoying though is Enchanting is basically a requirement for Tailors, as most things require Exquisite Weavercloth Bolts (including Dawn/Dusk Weave Bolts) and those require Storm Dust.
So lower drops, no cheap cloth on the AH, and a dependence on a profession that needs high prices to offset the lost of selling old gear/drops.
Speaking to this, I’ve actually dumped way more gold into engineering so far than I have tailoring. Talk about an overly expensive profession!
I can believe that, its been a long time since I did engineering, and oh my the vendor mats.
I agree cloth drop spec should be first. On my priest I did…
30 points textile treasures
30 point from dawn until dusk
and now I’m specing down threads of devotion for cloaks
The ability to get more cloth and start crafting the good cloth is important IMO.
I didn’t kill too many humanoids today either though so I can’t say if it seems nerfed. I feel like with the cloth farming groups though that it’s gonna happen.
It’s not just cloth, it’s all mob dropped profession mats.
pretty sure it’s the hundreds of groups doing the hyper respawn farms that are ruining it for all the legit players.
I’ve seen lots of players bragging about the millions in gold they’ve made from doing it
There’s probably a hundred groups in the group finder right now for them.
What are the rules concerning those hyper respawn farms for profession reagents?
Is it against the rules or not?
Can the legit players catch a break here?
It’s not against ToS, but if it’s behavior that Bliz does not want to encourage they generally nerf it and no one gets any actual in game penalties.
This has been going on since at least BFA, so I’m guessing Blizzard will do nothing about it. What it means is that when a mob’s loot table gets nerfed because of 2 x 4 farming, that mob essentially becomes useless to farm as a solo player.
Which means you need to target mobs whose loot tables haven’t nerfed into the ground yet.
but they nerf drops because of it and then we can’t get the reagents we need to even level up our professions, let alone make anything with them.
I feel like I’m getting punished for the actions of others.
Feels hopeless trying to swim against the current.
No one has even confirmed this has happened at this point.
But this is how life is, we always get punished because of other people.
Even still, is it even wrong for them to be doing that? Personally I would just say no, Blizzard made it hard to get good cloth (the cheap stuff I have tons of). People are going and getting it however they can, can’t really blame them.
Same. It’s wild that my miner has way more cloth than my tailor.
This is what I got today - lvl 80 Khaz Algar tailoring 25, Textile treasures specialization:
Follower dungeons:
The Rookery: 28 cloth, 14 bolts, 180 gold and a blue 554 trinket to equip
The Stone Vault: 31 cloth, 14 bolts, 189 gold and a blue 554 weapon to equip
Ara-Kara: 27 cloth, 18 bolts, 388 gold and a blue 554 trinket to equip
So, there is no 15 cloth cap. Textile treasures specialization might play a factor.
That’s being the leader and wiping everything in the instance.
I think ive gotten more storm dust and web cloth from the transmutes i did leveling alchemy then my tailor/enchanter alt her entire trip 70-80
i have been trying to get cloth today and i havent got one cloth at all from killing humanoids
Uh, on that hunter? Drops for tailors off of humanoids only now.
