Starting to think this is more of a design choice and not a bug. Has anyone addressed this yet as a known issue or a yes it is working as intended?
If you are referring to back-mounted weapons, while using a non-cape back transmog (like backpacks, chicken coop, fox pack, etc), then yes. They decided that back weapons would be hidden in these cases.

All weapons are hidden when sheathed on the back with any of these back pieces that aren’t cape.
It’s kinda lame.
Not a bad call since the weapons would always clip and look wierd.
This is one of the few small mercies that Blizzard has given us.
I actually like it for certain things. I have a few alts that use back pieces and it would look pretty stupid with a weapon clipping through it. I wish we could hide most weapons on the back and hips if I’m honest, especially the giant ones.

I love how backpacks hide weaponry but maybe it could be a choice.
Imagine someone with the murloc backpack, then a giant two handed sword just stuck straight through that poor murloc.
