I’m a 50 rogue and I just switched to swords and got my sword skill to 244 but when I kill 49 and 50 mobs I feel like I’m missing, getting dodged and parryed so much. Is this still weapon skill or something else?
Did you put points into increasing off hand chance to hit?
Is that in combat? I only remember seeing off hand damage increase.
Maybe that was it. I’m not sure, I thought that was a skill. I’m too lazy to google atm.
There’s a talent in combat that gives 5% hit chance that feeds into 50% more offhand damage but what’s hurting you right now is just the baseline chance to miss while dual wielding. Weapon skill can help against getting dodged and parried, there is a combat talent that will give you 5 more skill at max rank (weapon expertise?)
I’d wager that its your white attacks though being dodged and parried the most? At equal weapon skill to mob defense skill dual wielding auto attacks have something like a 16-17% miss chance before the mobs parry and dodge chance. Your yellow damage, abilities, should only have an 8 or 9% chance to miss while dual wielding depending on if you have taken the hit talent and your weapon skill.
If you go farm some green level enemies you should see a world of change ftom what you are experiencing now.
Edit: once you get some hit gear later down the line you will notice this a fair bit less.
Dual wielding gives a big hit penalty. Becomes far less later on when you get hit chance on gear.
It’s just white damage, though. Stuff like sinister strike and backstab aren’t affected even if sometimes it FEELS like your eviscerate is always dodged, parried, or blocked.
I was fighting a bear 3 levels below me and missed my shots like 6 in a row. I also seem to miss my opening shots from behind a lot too. I cant wait for the hit gear to come
