I just switched my rogue from swords to daggers, and have spent the past few days lvling up daggers on lvl 50 mobs (which are green). Its been like 2 hours sittin at 299 dual wielding. Do I need to hit on yellow mobs to finish? I checked and its def still 299, not that I missed the lvl up.
300 takes a really long time.

Hitting yellow mobs helps. Have a mage friend put arcane intellect on you and maybe pick up some cheap int leather gear from the AH.

Stop worrying about and just let it happen naturally. You may not even notice. Also, 2 hours is not long at all in my experience.
That last point doesn’t usually come quickly for combat/defensive skills.
My experience on this hasn’t been awful. Every time I get a new weapon I make time to farm SFK and that last point usually takes me 2-3 runs. Done this with 1H swords, maces, and axes, and 2H Swords. Still gotta polish off my polearm which is at like 297. Those last few points usually come once per run or so and each run takes me 20-25 minutes.
Although maybe it’s because as a warrior I’m cleaving/WWing a lot and that gives me a lot of extra chances.
When I’m stuck at 299, I usually find running a dungeon and using said weapon throughout the dungeon does the trick. It’s a good way to do it cause that way you’re not thinking about it so much either.

Just bring it in to MC, not like the raid will notice the dps difference and everything dies easy anyway.

The last point can be utterly long to get, you can make it a bit faster by getting all the intellect buffs you can (mage, elixir, food…).
Do a dungeon run?

Actually., don’t worry about it, it’ll hit 300 when you’re grinding instances.
I sat in the blasted lands and fought the unkillable mobs. I had Arcane Brilliance and my wife healing me. Auto attack did not go up as fast as using abilities. So I did Sinister Strike x 5 with Slice and Dice to get more hits in and got to 295 (I am limiting myself to level 59 for now, WSG is competitive and fun). Took me about 2 hours.
As a human, I got to 300 faster on my maces and swords then when I was using daggers. Those, using the same method above took me about and hour for both.

Get a mage to buff AI on you, get 2 of the lowest damaging daggers you can find, and spam your lowest energy costing ability. You can level up on anything regardless of level so maybe pick something lower level then you so it doesn’t hit that hard and you can go for longer. I personally like mobs that can heal and let them get every heal off.
When I did this to level my dagger skill from 299 to 300, it took 2 - 3 hours in between AV queues. Its way longer then any other weapon skill rank so just be patient, its not broken.
my understanding is ur just praying for a proc there is no bad luck protection…Yes higher level mobs will give u a better chance.
I stack int gear, get AI, and run RFC. You can get ~180 int pretty easily. It should take you less than 1 hour to go from 1-300 (warriors can do it in like 10 minutes with 180 int). Another option is to stealth through DMN and go to the spirits at the end. They don’t fight back and can never die.
I also buy the fastest, low damage white weapons I can find. Use blade flurry, snd, and ar on cooldown. If you’re doing the DMN strategy it’s a good idea to load up on all of the weapon types you want to level up, including ranged with plenty of ammo.
I should add before I started doing this, when I initially got 300 swords it took a very long time. Days of intermittently running dungeons. Intellect speeds it up immensely.
