So im trying to catch up on how weapons itemization and stats work in Dragonflight.
Main : i-level 256 axe - 102-214dmg
offhand- 242 sword 52-87 dmg
both 2.60 speed. Why is the sword so much less but still has a 2.6 speed?

weapon speed doesnt matter. All that matters on weapons are ilevel-> secondary stats.
Occassionally a weapon with built in proc effect can edge out another with higher ilevel, depending on how strong the effect is.
weapon speed only effects the auto-attack timer. there’s a damage penalty built into dual wielding which is why your off-hand weapon is doing less.
I’m unaware of this damage penalty. It doesn’t show on the weapon like that, and the penalty (as far as I knew) was the 19% chance to miss. Where do I find this info?
Ok, I see it. Although it still doesn’t show on the weapon’s tooltip.
yup, and I don’t think the passive says anything either. back in the day in the long long time ago, combat (now Outlaw) had a talent that lessened the penalty. but now Bliz just uses that hidden aura passive so it wasn’t brought back to clog up the class tree.
